What is going on!?

I know these updates are not patches and are not supposed to effect the gameplay, but after about 10 matches now in LUT since the patch last week, the game has completely gone to ****. The defensive double team somehow pushes me out to half court and I cannot penetrate or even use a screen because of this ridiculous move that the AI does. It literally teleports my player 5 feet further from the basket than he was and I can do nothing to get by it. I am not only unable to hit a three to save my life, now even 2 footers with my big men who have ratings in the 90's are missing as much as they are making them. My team shooting percentage has gone from 50-55%, down to about 39%. I don't know what EA did, but I have no doubt now that they f*cked up something bad. This game is such horse**** now. I will not be spending anymore money or time on this garbage.

Again roster updates do not affect gameplay. You should get video to get se tips since not too many others are experiencing these things

Re: What is going on!?

It's all Synergy's fault.

It explains why we all see different things (and why people think gameplay is being patched constantly).

It's either not implemented well enough or simply not worth the trouble (I suspect the second option).

We need sliders, we need manual settings and to be able to turn off this auto updating junk because it's not only temperamental but likes throwing players from the wrong teams into lineups and having other starters mysteriously MIA.

It's a cop out for devs to try to rely on auto updates for a game they charge for every year. Maybe if you charged once and updated for the next 2 or 3 years, but you offer a game every year, so get it right.

Re: What is going on!?

This **** is such a joke. I just played the LUT coinup challenge against the Charlotte Hornets, not someone's ultimate team, but just the freaking hornets twice. They shot 72% in game 1 and 68% in game 2. Unbelievable. Meanwhile I shot 41% and 39%, so I don't care what anybody tries to claim about these updates because it has definitely ruined the game. Maybe they should stop raising the AI players values for doing nothing in real life, because the one thing that synergy has done has caused all AI players to exploit the cheapest most bull**** crap in the game. I am so sick and f*cking tired of them starting at the 3 point line and gliding through my entire defense untouched for an easy layup, while now EVERY SINGLE F*CKING TIME I go to the hole at all, I get called for a ridiculous charge. Literally, every god damn time. This game is a joke.

Re: What is going on!?

I don't play Live Ultimate Team as I only do the Dynasty mode. I can understand the frustration some have with the shooting and I have them as well. However, I want to offer a bit of advice that has worked for me that hopefully will work regardless of what mode you play.

Shooting/3-pointers: Get to know your players. I know the little tip thing before the start of each game says a "great" release shot has a better chance of scoring than an early or late shot but with some players I found releasing the shot a little early or late will improve their chances from mid to long range. I can't explain it but it works for me. For example with Noah Vonleh in my Charlotte Hornets dynasty, if I shoot with him on the run and release the shot "slightly late" 4 out of 5 times he'll make the long range jumper if he's on the sweet spot of the court for him.

Over the course of 44 regular season games, I've learned who on my Hornet dynasty team are good for reliable 3's (Walker, Stephenson, Williams, Roberts, Vonleh and occasionally Jefferson). This is important because not all players are strong enough to shoot 3's. I've thrown enough air balls with Gerald Henderson to know this.

Run Plays: Someone said this to me when I first came on this forum and its probably the most sound piece of advise I got. It opens up shots and allows you to drive to the basket. Run your best team specific play that allows your best player to get open for shots. Again going back to my Hornets dynasty, if I run a play that can get Lance Stephenson open and he takes a quick open shot, whether mid or long range, he makes it more times than not.

Quick Draw: If you have a player open and you pass to him, take the shot as quick as you can. I learned you really need a quick draw because it doesn't take much for an open shot to quickly turn into a guarded or contested one thus instantly decreasing your chances of making it.

Driving to the hole: This one I find to be difficult because on the highest level setting, the CPU makes it very difficult to drive and block many lay up attempts. I usually work from the top of the key when I drive and go for the dunk (rather than the lay up) which usually results in a 3-point play opportunity for me. Another thing I do is back out of the paint to about the 3-point line to give my player space to work. It gets crowded in there making it difficult to move about. If I back out the CPU doesn't follow as close which allows me to reset my play or run a new one.

Hopefully this helps and these are things that have worked for me. I am by no means a veteran to the series (only been playing for a couple months now) so you may have a method that's way better than what I use so go with what works best for you. In closing I do wish they make stealing a little more difficult as I can do that alot (I average about 10 per game) with Kemba Walker being the guy at the forefront. I feel I shouldn't be able to steal the ball from my opponent that many times in a game.

Re: What is going on!?

Oh and one more thing, keep your cool when you're down. I know with me if I'm down and I start to get frustrated, I don't play the game I should be playing which causes me to go down even more. I think that's what caused me to lose so bad to Cleveland (well that and a bad night my team was having).

Play your team the way you usually would if you're up. Eventually the CPU will fall into a rut that will allow you to make a comeback attempt.
