They haven't publicly addressed the lack of a release date.

This is as basic as it gets for a title. The only positive (and I'm reaching here) is they can go past the NBA mandated date for a licensed game to release and keep working on improving the game.

But the comment on "trying to get the game to beta" at THIS point?

That's certainly shocking.

Hmmm...there's no way they will have the game ready in time for Oct 2. If they somehow do release the game on Oct 2, it may be filled with bugs.....crucified Andrew Bynum anyone? Are they willing to take that chance?

With Live 13 being absence from EA's Origins, Season Ticket, and now fiscal year calendar, it is at the very least being delayed. If this is the case, they will get totally burned in terms of sales. No one besides hardcore Live fans will wait for that game.

I think EA should just focus on next-gen. Release Live 13 for Wii U since there won't be a 2K13 on that console. Then try to make a huge splash on the 720 and PS4 next fall.

2k13 is slated for wii u release date around holidays, look it up!
