rEAnimator, I haven't been this excited about an NBA game in years and it's mainly due to the new control system. THANK YOU for implementing this into Elite 11 and not recycling the same, stale game that another NBA video game company keeps repackaging as a "new" game.

I know that Elite 11 has taken some bad press, but I truly believe that lazy gamers and game reviewers are intimidated by the new controls. Instead of looking at this game with an open mind and try to learn/adapt to the new control scheme.....they bash it because it's not their typical "button mash" game that they are comfortable with.

Regarding shooting (bolded above).....I can't seem to hit a jumper to save my life. LOL. I really hope that the first patch you guys release addresses the sensitivity of the shot stick control.

Once I change the controls to "alternate/Live" my jumpshot shooting skills return but it defeats the purpose of the new control system.

Unfortunately when I shoot in the practice gym, it doesn't seem to translate out in a 5v5 game. Please help!

p.s. any idea if a NBA Elite 11 Strategy Guide is set to release (ala Madden 11)?

I'm the opposite, I've got a real handle on shooting and I worry about it becoming too easy very soon. I hope they really tune the shooting difficulty harder for Superstar.

The reality is that this game is really risky. You're just not going to get past many people putting it in and not giving it the time needed to start getting into it. It's not easy to get used to a brand new movement system and it's going to be VERY awkward. Graphically is grows on you. I really think graphically it's better than 2K, though all the little touches aren't quite there.

What really needs work is the individuality of each player and I think EA knows that. That's one thing that separates other the NBA from other sports, there's a great deal of individuality that's easily noticeable in every single aspect. Not only from person to person but from position to position. Making a PF not be able to do things a PG can do is a big deal and helps lend quite a bit to the legitimacy of a basketball game.

Beyond that, the AI needs quite a bit of tweaking as it seems that's where the largest step backwards seems to be. Maybe I'm wrong, but it really doesn't play as solid a game of basketball as last year's game.

If EA really wants to win some of us, I wonder how much can be patched to improve gameplay and AI decision making. Still, as hard as I was on this game initially, the foundation is there. I don't know if I'm in the majority though, as far as people who are going to give Elite the time needed. I also don't think most people will be happy waiting yet again to have a game that's really well done. I've said "trust me, this game is almost there" several times now. Again I have to to say, "well, it's probably 2 years again... they redid quite a bit...." That's hard.

And rEAnimator, thanks for your accessibility, even with all the negativity. I think putting in the time and effort this year to patch problems, improve AI, etc, will be worth it to win over quite a few people. A lot of time and effort now by your team would go a long ways rather than "wait until next year."

5 days to get motivated to even try this demo

15 minutes to download

2 to install

5 in a tutorial

1 minute of regular play against the Lakers

10 seconds to scrap the new controls

1 minute of demo with old controls

press exit game

press triangle to delete

30 seconds to decide this title has lost my business for the duration of the current 3 year plan

This is the typical timeline around here and why the game is slammed so hard...10 seconds to scrap the new controls? Now that's giving it a chance

Sometimes when you know you just know, like if a 4 star restaurant serves you burnt chicken you dont eat it until it tastes good, you tell the waiter; what is this ish, im not paying for this. Ea sports burnt and put a booger in my chicken and im hungry, also why am i projected first round with 5 turnovers in to be legendary?

The controls really aren't that difficult to understand and aren't what most people don't like about the demo.
