Well, I like what I saw. And I like it every time I see it again.

I could care less if the graphics sucks, or if Jennigs is shooting with his right hand. I didn't even notice until one of you guys said it. That will come. I like the technology implemented, the FREEDOM in terms of control, and absolutely love the direction EA chose.

And sincerely, if anyone thinks this is the same as last year... wow... just wow...

Re: NBA Elite 11 Video: Vision Developer Diary

Well having seen the video I must say I'm looking forward to the game. Seeing the spin away from contact mid dribble let's me know there will be some sick combos this year. >>
> >
I have seen back and forth with the eurostep and although it looks wierd I think it would have been love if there was a defender attempting a block. >>
> >
And omg did Rock say putback by Antwon Jaminson. Plus a foul. I have high hopes for dunk ons and putbacks now. >>
> >
Lastly if they bring back the ability to make people fall like in 09 but with better animations this could be a revolution. >>
> >
Physics = hella contact. Good in the game of basketball>>

Main thing I'm thinking of is the free style passing. That was TOO good to have in one year and leave it out the next.

Though I imagine it would go fine into their new control scheme:

I speculate it would remain the same as last year

i.e. Hold down LT + use RS for freestyle passing

I wonder if shooting might work in a similar way. (Holding down a trigger changes the RS to shooting mode)

Bit off topic, but ah well...
Speaking of passing I'd settle for them simply fixing it! The passing in Live 10 made the average NBA player (as represented in-game) look like a buffoon! I could have the ball on the left elbow while my 4 or 5 has his man posted up on the left low block w/the defender sealed on his left shoulder and when I go to pass, it would strangely pass to my 4 or 5's left hand! Who in their right mind would do that?

Also free-style passing was cool when it worked but for me a lot of time it was too in-accurate. I'd prefer to tap the icon passing button for a quick flashy pass and hold it down for the standard pass (or vice-verse), that way it always goes to the intended man instead of passing to the man in the corner when I am running the pick and roll w/my bigs cutting down the lane!

Nice!! thats great to hear P-dub I was worried they were going to take away the passing controls from last year.

It was one of my favorite features in last year's game, only problem was how tough it was to defend a player that used it..

There is A LOT of stuff that has yet to be implemented into the game and there are a lot of issue that have to be fixed but the important thing for you guys to know is that the development team is working hard to deliver a genuine NBA game.

With the video you all saw there are no signature animations implemented and everyone has the same attributes. No one has been personalized in the game yet which is why you are seeing guys like Brandon Jennings shooting with his right hand and performing 360 dunks (although when Jennings was in high school the man was a MEAN dunker). I'm sure some of you are wondering, "Then why would you show Brandon Jennings shooting when you can show someone else?" There is a reason for it but unfortunately I can't go into that (legal reasons).

There is a lot of time for the game to shape up and we will be showing you guys more of the game in the months ahead. There is a lot of time left guys and you will see what we have to show you for this year's game that differentiates itself from our past offerings.

Does that mean we will have signature shots, dribbles, animations, etc.... Not just for the stars but for everyone. Signature packages is all I want in this life.

I don't understand the whole "shots are based on luck" thing.

They make it sound like it's possible to hit 100% of your shots if you're skilled enough. Including that ridiculous half court shot statement.

Which isn't humanly possible. You can do everything right, have perfect form, the right touch, and it'll still rim out, thanks to some minute, fractional, microscopic difference from the previous shot which was nothing but net you were completely unaware of. There's a measure of luck involved in any sport.

To me, luck is just a skill you can't control.

There's still going to be some built in, behind the scenes system that says if I shoot a certain way with Kevin Durant the shot'll go in, but if I do the same with Yao Ming, it'll be an airball.
