Has anyone ever won a game in season, but been given a loss anyway?

I just beat the #1 guy in my season, but my record took an L, and his got the W.

I've haven't tried it out yet but I think this may work. So basically, I've completely changed my strategy with seasons. Now I aim to lose in the first round on purpose to get the two team packs. Before claiming the reward however, you should change your favorite team to the team of the epic that you need a duplicate for. By doing this, you have 2 chances to get the duplicate for the epic that you need. Because let's be honest here, you have a better chance to pull the duplicate epic from the team pack than pulling ANY epic from the draft. And it's pointless to continue trying in a season when you know for a fact you won't win the finals.
PROS:
1) Your season ends almost a day earlier if you lose in the first round thus allowing you start a new one a day earlier than usual.
2) You won't lose sleep having to wake up in the middle of the night to give energy to your guys because you're obviously trying to lose.
3) Won't have to constantly check during the entire day to rotate guys/give energy because once again, all you need to do is get into the playoffs. So all in all, you save a whole lot of time.

I haven't done that particular strategy but I have lost in the second round on purpose for the past 2 seasons because I was matched up pretty harshly. Because in my current situation, I just want any epic that I can get (Total of five epics: Drafted two and three from seasons). A player 6 pack will likely give you a better chance for that epic and it worked because I did get a Josh Smith so not too bad.

However, I am trying out the 'first round exit' strategy for my current season. Let's see how it goes.

Are team packs really that great for epics? I thought the epics from there were pretty low chance too.
