Help with Career Mode for an absolute Beginner?

I'm surprised at how good this game is, and I really want to play with my guy and become a pro. Problem is all I know about Basketball are the basic rules. There's a team somewhat near me, but....they're truly terrible

Can you guys give me some advice on what to do in order to succeed in the be a pro mode? What position I should play? stuff like that.

Also any help understanding the game would be really appreciated too

If you want to play MyCareer mode (if that is what you meant) then hopefully I can offer you some advice in my videos:

Check the NBA 2K13 and ...14 playlists, last year I made some more basic videos too that might help you, you might want to start there.

In my opinion playing a bigman (Power forward or Center) is easier than a guard or a small forward - your job is more straightforward.

I do not play the other gamemodes, only MyCareer.

Best advice: play, enjoy it and learn while you play.
