How to keep NBA 2K13 fresh?

I called Gamestop earlier to pre-book the game and they're saying that the only European country that's doing the €10 upgrade to PS4 is the UK which was the only reason I was gonna get the game on PS3. I'm still waiting to get back from my other local game store but it seems like I'm gonna have to wait until Christmas for next-gen. Hopefully GTA V and Madden can keep me occupied until then but I still need my basketball fix. How can I keep 2K13 fresh? Any ideas on what to do?

Honestly, by the end of next month GTA isn't going to be crap, everyone will get bored of it like the usually do. Play something you will play for longer.

Classic rosters tend to add a fresh element to 2K's. In years past I'd often play Associations and Quick Games with current teams throughout the real NBA season. Then at some point, the year would wind down and interest would wane. Some awesome user-made classic teams really brought the game back to life. 2K12 was the best in that regard, as 2K13 hamstrung users a bit, but there's something to be offered.

If you have a capable PC, get the PC version and use patches. I've been playing pretty much straight blacktop mode recently with classic rosters, giving the game that NBA Street v2 feel.

My advice, if you like classic team you can download a very very good roster for ps3, File name: COMPLETED HISTORIC TEAMS GOLD2
Username: theg81 (just search under username)

UPDATED ON 9/15/13 AT 3:30PM (edits are in red and underlined); this will be the final version
It is just incredible!!!

I advice you to create 97 heat quickly it is just a good game!!

And why not create a european team from the the og 1992 to play against the dreamteam!!

To finish try to beat the lakers 2001 With the kings 2001 or beat the 76 sixers 2001 to win the championship with the lakers2001.
