The difference between 2k and EA is that when 2k tells you about things they're doing, they go into detail and you actually see the improvements in the game each year. If Mike Wang is telling me that the game is a huge upgrade to last year, I believe him because in my opinion the game has gotten progressively better each year since he came back to 2k. HUGE leap forward last year with the dribble controls, and now it appears they're really putting in work on the defensive end. Is it a brand new, completely innovative game? No, but when you have such a fine product to begin with, you can get away with a shorter list up upgrades and new features.

EA released a NG teaser and 2K dropped a CG dev video, a CG dev video. I dunno, I just don't feel that they are worried otherwise imo we would have seen something else. Just me though... hopefully I am not wrong.
NO! We NEED LIVE to be decent at best because people could choose and 2K would then have to up their game..That happened with NBA 2K11 when ELITE 11 dropped.

i did not like that turn around pass block that Morris did vs Love. just spins and automatically knows where the ball is? ok.

anyways, i remember the difference in videos from 2k12 to 2k13 and you could physically see how the game was going to 'feel' different. i don't get that so much with the videos this year, but i'm willing to not judge until i play it. all i've read from jwilliams // da_czar has me more pumped than ANYTHING 2k has actually put out.

next year just hire those guys! lol.

I don't disagree, just saying from 2Ks perspective, a crushing is needed.

From a consumer POV, Live needs to be decent even if only for a year.

From LIVEs POV... they just need to put out a game.

This 100%. Competition creates quality. Lack of competition is why 2k12 and 2k13 were less of a jump than 2k11. 2k11 they brought MJ after so many people called for it, they created the jordan challenge which is one of the most detailed modes to date, and they revamped the entire gameplay.

I def. feel that the changes are more subtle to the eye when watching, but when playing you can feel/sense it. You just couldn't dribble around the court and get anywhere without the defense hounding you (pokes, loose balls, etc).

Layup in a tight area with multiple defenders... good chance that's getting tipped/poked or outright block/swatted.

I am hyped for 2K14 as well... cause I know the potential of the game itself... having been tweaking 13 since launch, I have a nice set that I play on now and when I picked up the controller w/ 14 that first time... I was like, yeah this feels good... after a few quarters, I found myself struggling to get into the paint. Wish I had some plays, but seriously the defense is there w/ the contact and I feel that as a community that is the #1 thing that we all really wanted. To be able to make plays on defense, which is also what I tried to do w/ my slider set, make the defense = to offense.

Re: NBA 2K14 Video - Gameplay Developer Insight

FYI y'all: LD will be dropping some info today about shoes w/ 2k14... can't wait and I ain't even a big sneaker head.

Hopefully some info about nicekicks.com will be in there.

2k14 cant get here fast enough.. I know I feel like I am hyping this up beyond belief (even for myself)... but then I think back on my time w/ the game... and I always come back to, no, it definitely is step in the right direction (in the way that we as a community.. here at OS want).
