Getting the roster right from day one!

One of the most annoying things about basketball games, i.e. NBA 2k, is that they never ever have the roster right from scratch. The question is why?? Does it have to do with contracts like unguaranteed ones and rookies not signed by the date they stop editing the roster (beginning of August I think they always state the roster is based on)? Also free agent list is also at times full of guys that have a team overseas and are way too old yet some guys who recently played and could still play are not in the game? Just trying to figure out why..

There isn't any excuse for not having the correct rosters. Last year they didn't include any 2nd round rookies.

no reason to release default rosters with clearly overrated players. AKA BLAKE GRIFFEN 84 midrange smh

Re: Getting the roster right from day one!

When you start up the game it usually says "Rosters accurate as of X August" or something. It's been like that since NBA Live 95, which means if someone hasn't signs after that, they can't add them to the core game.
