Can anyone tell me what awareness really does?

I know the description says:
Offensive Awareness: Helps with loose balls, and passing out of double teams
Defensive Awareness: Helps Rotation on Help Defense
But what else does it do?

Just basing this off the top of my head from what I can remember

- Players with low awareness have a harder time catching passes.

- Players with low awareness don't always run hard.

- Players with low awareness don't seem to react as fast as players with high awareness on defense.

Call me crazy, but it feels like higher offensive awareness "unlocks" more moves.

I've heard players with high offensive awareness are better at getting to the ball in any situation. This includes getting to the ball faster for rebounds, steals, blocks and loose balls. Not sure if this is true though.

In my experience, it's very broad but its all the things you don't notice. For example, throwing the ball out of bounds for no reason.. Cutting in a terrible situation.. not cutting in a smart situation. losing the ball for no reason. Making rediculous plays that you cant explain. For example, even on superstar, which is what I play on.. Try turning the CPU awareness sliders up all the way down for a quarter. Then turn them all the way up for the next quarter. You'll most definitely notcie. lol

Awareness affects Movement efficiency. Ever notice how LeBron reacts quicker and seemingly skates by other players who have the same speed and quickness ratings as he does? Edit a player with similar speed and quickness to LeBron and give them the same awareness that LeBron has. The player's reactions and Movement efficiency should be relatively close to LeBron's.
