Does anybody know how to save your coaching and defensive settings for online play?

You can't. You have to change the settings at the beginning of every game.

That sucks. You'd think they could have added that into the game by now.

you can save your settings.

just cycle between the menu screens of controller options/controller layout and it will trigger a profile save (every time) and a ping to 2k server that will get you VC (after 2nd gm played for that day w/o logging out)
