Does real player percentage even work?

I'm starting to this this feature is broken. I'm 8 games into my season and Kyrie is shooting a horrible 35% with a 14% from the 3pt line. I don't even think real foul shooting percentage works in this game either. Does anyone else notice this also?

People have a misconception about Real Player %. I used to as well. Most people think you can tap the button, or hold it or whatever, and the result is determined based on the player's rating... this is not the case.

You still have to get the release right. Height of your jump. Now, if you have done that correctly, the RESULT of the shot is based on your player's rating. If you tap the button, or get a bad release... you'll miss every time, regardless of player... as you should. This is the ultimate in sim play, I feel.

Ex: If you play on Shot Stick Timing and have mastered Dwight Howard's jumpshot release... you can drain 3's with him all game, because you got the release right. BUT, if you turn around and switch it to Real Player % and get the same exact release with Dwight, he'll miss almost every time because his 3PT rating is low.

I hope this cleared anything up.

Re: Does real player percentage even work?

yeah I know that. When shot stick is turned on I'm have a high percentage with Kyrie but with real percentage it's low and my shots are timed right. Played 2 more games to bring my total to 10 and I think I can get his FG% at a good number (maybe)but that 3pt % is gonna look like crap because he bricks every thing.

It sounds like your sliders might be compensating for a poor release on Shot Stick Timing maybe? So when you switch it to Real Player %, if you use the same release, it is going to be harder to make if it isn't 100%.

IMO the shooting sliders have to be increased when you use Real Player FG%. I've used it for the past few years, and it has always resulted in poor percentages with the default sliders. First thing I do is bump up my shooting.

Interesting. I always tend to lower the sliders. I like to see poor percentages sometimes. I like to feel like I'm earning my offense. An open mid range J or 3 pointer can be missed, and I like seeing that. With default sliders, both sides will almost ALWAYS shoot over 50% from the field in my experience.

I use MKHarsh's all star sliders with real player % and I shoot right around 44% with the Sixers. I miss the occasion open J, sometimes I hit shots I shouldn't late in games, all in all the shooting feels realistic.
