Re: NBA 2K14 Wishlist Thread

All Signature Skills that give boost to ratings (Floor General/Defensive Anchor, Dimer and Interceptor) should be either removed or reworked. Things that affect "intangible" things such as Bruiser, Charge Card and Deadeye should remain.

Re: NBA 2K14 Wishlist Thread

played a few more quick matches tonight...wow

after playing tonight, it's clear that online is even worse than i previously thought. the 3 pt success is inexcusable for a game that calls itself a "sim". the crazy scoring runs to help the losing team come back are insane. online this game seems tailor-made to aid children and "unfortunate" adults in competing with very little skill or decision making ability.

a sad, sad person can actually compete simply by jacking up 35+ 3 pointers. most of them CONTESTED...this person might not win, but they can keep the game much closer than it should be. one guy took 15 3's with Durant and made 11 of them. 10 of them were contested, only 1 was open on a fast break. that's 73 percent...on 3's that were almost all contested. why even bother running plays or trying to get open? Durant shouldn't even be making 73 percent of his OPEN 3's, let alone guarded 3's.

2k11 was not perfect, but based on which shots went in, it was clear 2k's goal was to reward and encourage skill and good decision-making. open shots and shots off of plays went in way more than just trying to score 1-on-1 and jack up shots. now, in 2k13, it seems that they wanted to make scoring 1-on-1 easier so casual people could compete without needing to run plays or find good shots. i can't say i'm surprised, since gaming companies have such pressure to increase their sales every year...but i just wish there was an enjoyable online experience in which success isn't arbitrary and handed out like a cookie to a toddler.

here's how 2k should address it: when you go to do a quick match online...make the user choose if they want a "sim" quick match, or a "casual" quick match. wins in sim quick matches would be worth twice as much as wins in casual quick matches...then the rankings would reward the people who choose to play sim more than those who play casual quick matches. casuals could still play their garbage ball and get a 1200-200 record, but they couldn't get very high on the leader boards because they played all of their games on casual.

I was just coming in here for this. THIS IS MANDATORY! My Career is being ruined by horrible CPU teammate play, and CPU teams cheating.

Also I would like them to allow multiple USERS to play in a My Career Mode. This would be much more fun than just 1 guy.

Also allow more simming features during My Career. Sick of having to play a ton of games I really don't want to play, even if they are generated key games.

How about allowing to skip through the repetitive interviews after the game? Either this or add Halftime interviews and post-game on the court interviews, THAT CAN BE SKIPPED IF NECESSARY!

Canned animations need to stop yesterday! The game just looks ridiculous when this happens time and time again! Common it's starting to play like EA titles!

NBA D-League to help develop players or call up a gem here and there.

Fix the All-Star competitions. The 3-Point Contest is laggy and unresponsive enough. The Dunk Contest isn't bad.

Can we get some better Commentary? Add Kenny Smith to the Dunk Contest Commentary team.

Older players need to see rating drops and attributes drop. And stop making dominant teams simply because 1 star joins them. The Detroit Pistons shouldn't play like the Miami Heat just because Dwight Howard is on the team. He can play dominant, but the rest of the team shouldn't. And they shouldn't play dominant as a team either. This makes the game arcadish.

remove "play the passing lane" tendency on a user's game slider (on simulation at least).

Re: NBA 2K14 Wishlist Thread

can we add the nba summer league las vegas camera angle? The camera pans all the way on the left side where it almost lines up with the backboard but when it goes back to the right it lines up toward the top of the 3 point line.

ONLINE TEAM UP NEEDS TO NOT ALLOW ANYONE IN THE MATCH TO CALL A TIMEOUT WHENEVER THEY PLEASE BECAUSE I SWEAR WHEN I PLAY I NEVER PLAY BECAUSE PEOPLE THINK ITS FUNNY TO CALL TIMEOUTS ONE AFTER ANOTHER AND BY THE TIME YOU RUN OUT OF TIMEOUTS (YOU BASICALLY NEVER DO) EVERYONE HAS ALREADY QUIT. THIS IS THE DUMBEST THING TO ALLOW AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW ANYONE COULD THINK THAT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO GIVE THESE IDIOTS THE POWER TO CALL A TIMEOUT WHENEVER THEY PLEASE.

We should be able to extend our defense beyond the 3-point line the entire defensive play. It's necessary to have in the game to properly defend the outside shooting. We should also be able to extend our zone defenses. Like if I choose half court press, I want my team to press to the half court until the possession is over.

Re: NBA 2K14 Wishlist Thread

Couple of things off the top of my head:

-It'd be cool to be able to sort all plays in the game by play type-- for example, allowing me to look through all of the mid-range plays for every team if I'm looking for some plays of that type for a player.

-Players should have some sort of tendency to shoot from like 25-30 feet in the half-court, with no urgency. No shot clock, no game clock running down. Steph Curry does this all the time (at least, as often as you'd expect from an NBA player). Maybe also a rating for how far a player can shoot with his normal jumper form (LeBron can do so from half-court IRL, but not in 2K13)

-The CPU seemed to make really odd, sporadic substitutions in 2K13. Like, if you play the Thunder, they'll bring in someone like Reggie Jackson with 3 minutes left so Westbrook can get a rest, then bring Westbrook back in for Jackson like 30 seconds later. I'm not sure exactly how this would be fixed, but it hurts the realism a little

-I think players should be penalized more for triggering Intense D. It does make it easier to drive past someone than the normal defensive stance, but I think it should basically be a guaranteed blow-by with minimal contact, unless you have like an all-league defender against someone who's incredibly slow

-Maybe the ability to edit menu sound effects separately from in-game sound effects? I turned the SFX volume down in 2K13 because I felt like the dribbling, rim sounds, swishes, etc., were louder than IRL, but now, I can't hear all the sound effects that occur in the menu. It's not a huge deal, it's just kinda weird and hard to get used to

-Step-back dribbles could use some work, I think. Some players have REALLY slow step-back animations, and usually, the point of a step-back is to quickly create separation. But if the animation is slow, it's pretty much useless

-Some players in the NBA will make certain hand signals when they call for isolation-- some will wave their hand toward the nearest teammate(s), telling him/them to clear out the strong side or the floor, or they'll tap themselves in the chest like they're saying "I got this." Something like that would be cool (it shouldn't happen every time, but seeing it once in a while would be pretty sweet)

-The pre-game intros are getting better year-by-year, and I'm actually very impressed, but a few things IMO-- the clips in the intro shouldn't always use the exact same jerseys that were chosen for those games. That doesn't really happen in real life. You could honestly just pick jerseys at random, as long as there's some sort of system to make sure both teams aren't wearing the same color in the clips.

Also, the clips should almost always be in real speed (I'm not sure if it's possible for the pre-game clips to be done the same way the intro to the game itself was done, but if that's possible, oh em gee). I think one or two intros were done with real speed, and I think they should all be like that.

I can't really speak for the people making the game, but I think the aim should be to give the intros a feel like TNT does:

Something like that. Anything close to that would be friggin amazing. It would really get people pumped up for the game.

-The commentators shouldn't wait for after free throws are shot to start talking. I can't count the number of times I've been at the line to shoot my foul shots, and there's just silence. That rarely happens IRL. The commentators can talk about almost anything-- the team matchup, which team they favor, the player at the line, something that happened earlier, something about the player who fouled the shooter, even other scores around the league. Just no silence. I'd rather have bad commentary than no commentary, and I think others would agree.

-Broadcasters in real life generally don't talk about who the best passers/rebounders/scorers are at certain positions. Just overall. And also, the way they show a single player and his statistics/accomplishments and whatnot with the big overlay that almost covers the entire screen-- that's good. Except we should be able to hit A or X to skip past it if necessary, and generally, when that type of overlay is shown, it's with a zoomed out shot of the inside of the arena in the background. For example:

I hope I'm not too late with these suggestions. I probably should have showed up here earlier.
