Dynamic Goals and the CPU

So I know there is a my career thread but I felt this might deserve it's own topic, instead of getting lost in the discussion, because I'm wondering if others are having as big a problem as I am.

Seems like whenever I get a dynamic goal in game the cpu goes out of it's way to prevent me from accomplishing that goal and mostly that is ok with me except for on 1 particular goal. Any time I get asked to bring my team within a certain amount of points or try to tie the game up, the cpu goes crazy and shoots an absolutely ridiculous fg%.

Example I play for the raptors and while we're not a top tier defensive team we do have some good defense on the team. We're playing the 76ers down by 9 at the half, I get the goal to bring my team within 5 points, should be easy enough. Well the quarter closes out raptors scoring 22 on 52% shooting and the 76ers scored 41 and shot 78% from the field, that to me is just absolutely ridiculous. Every possession they had almost entirely ignored any kind of defensive pressure we threw at them and they just scored at will and this is with andrew bynum injured for the game. Personally I feel like it's just the game completely messing with me because the code was written to just allow the cpu to completely take over the game once you got that goal.

Anyone else been noticing this?

Exactly. I don't mind challenging goals, but when it feels like the CPU is going out of its way to prevent you from achieving it. This happened to me on two goals: cut the lead to 5 and the other one to tie.

What's more frustrating is getting subbed out. I got that quad goal of get one of each stat by the end of the quarter. Two minutes later, I was subbed out and failed the goal without given much of a chance (I play 8 min myplayer quarters).

just had the same goal presented to me, 3rd quarter my team goes 8-21 they go 19-26, that is so much cheese. outscored 41 to 18, the detroit pistons too, come on 2k. look at the other quarters
1st 2nd 3rd
Tor 36 31 18
Det 31 25 41

97 to 81 before the 4th quarter, defense really needs to be addressed, playing 12 minute quarters

I see no change with the AI after goals, I honestly think you're just trying too hard once you know something has to get complete.Stop pressing , just relax and not try to force anything.

how can i be pressing when i'm still locking down the offensive player im guarding, he's not the one going off on me its the rest of the team. two games in a row the opposing team shot over 70% from the field after the goal came into play. it's not like my team is suddenly shooting worse we stay around 48-56% for the game really. whats even weirder is i try to make sure we get good looks on offense during this time, keeping more of my bad shooting down and passing it to open teammates more often.

I understand maybe you aren't seeing the same issue happening in your game, maybe has something to do with difficulty or the system (unlikely). I'm playing on ps3 and hall of fame difficulty.

Some of them are way too crazy to be forced on you. Getting run off the gym by a much better gym? Why don't you try going on a one-man 6-0 run real quick? That one pisses me off to no end.

And the "bring us within 5 points" one only seems to come up when you're down more than a dozen, and I've only done it once...and it took like two full quarters.

to be honest I think you forced too much on your own player, I got that get your team within /take the lead before quarter and I always can do that before the quarters ends.
From my experience, I play PF and just keep doing pick and roll and you will get the lead in short time.
