Even though it's probably on the lowest difficulty, I'd be lying if I said I didn't have fun making this stat line with J Shuttlesworth

I like the Demo. It's much more polished and smooth. I'm getting used to the control stick. All I seemed to be able to do is spin moves. I can't really get as mucn control as I'd like. I also don't like the presentation style. It's looks too gawdy for me. It takes the realistc presentation look away from the game. I don't like it at all. The gameply itself is great though. Anyone else having trouble with crossovers and really having control of the ball?? I'm sure it's just cuz I suck. lol

I can't see the harden dunk because I'm on my phone. And I agree that sometimes the dunks in half court sets are ridiculous but its a video game. The online sliders are gonna cater to the casual fan and thats what they like. I didn't see the dunk but Harden actually has an insane vertical. I forgot the number but he can throw it down. The reason why we don't see it is because that's not his game. He's more of a soft around the rim guy than a scrapper like russ who will slam on you if he can. So as you control Okc and Miami, if you see a sick dunk in hardens case, its not that he can't throw it down. And you are controlling him so you should be able to do what you want with him just like people post up with people who don't post up. Just because they dont do it in real life doesnt mean they cant do it.

I don't understand why everyone is so upset about the new controls. If you don't want to use the right stick to do crossovers, then don't. It's not like you have to cross over every single time you catch the rock.

The developers agree that this game is also a great learning tool... and right now you're teaching "students" that it's all about crazy dribbling right off the bat.
In the controls thread Mike said we will all see the bigger picture in 14 and it will all make sense. So, maybe we are missing something. I do think its way better than the iso motion stuff and I love having the ability if I want to string together moves to do so. It is pretty responsive as well. To me im still trying to deal with moving the left stick and the right stick at the same time to get the result I want. I thought I was coordinated until now! LOL! Thats just practice time though.

Anyways, I think they could have implemented everything that they wanted to do this year and still had the right stick dribbling, but just tied it into the modifier is all. I for years had always heard the argument about the casual gamer and trying to appeal to both the sim gamer and casual gamer. For example: I was a fan of post moves in 2k11. I took the time to learn them all and i was doing moves in my online league guys didnt have a clue how to pull off. Then in 2k12 they dumbed it down IMO for the casual gamer.

I had brought up a better play calling system once again IMO for more organization within play books which by adding 1 extra button press eliminated 3-4 button presses in the long haul. I was told that it wouldn't work because of the casual gamer. I said it would because it would be better for the casual gamer as he would get the result he wanted from what he was doing rather than a crapshoot when calling a play.

My point is that this system seems to be contradicting to what I have heard for the last 2-3 years. Its a big and bold move, innovative, and creative no doubt. For the casual gamer it doesnt make sense though. Shoot, it doesn't even make sense to some of us SIM gamers either. 1 simple change with the modifier + right stick imo changes all that.

Re: NBA 2K13 Demo Available Now For 360 and PS3, Post Impressions Here

Two small additions I'm liking thus far:

1. When defending a player on the wing looking to pass the ball into the post, it seems the defender has less spring and reach than last year. In 2K12, it was often possible to lure the wing to attempt a post entry, only to slide back, jump, and deflect that entry. That does not appear to be as simple this year.

2. When defender an inbounds pass (on ball), again, the defender's hands and arms don't seem capable of being as disruptive. At this point, it looks like it might cut down on the ability to deflect the pass right out of the inbounder's hands, often leading the ball to deflect off their body and out of bounds.

One thing I feel might be missing at this point:

1. The quick inbound after an opponent scores. I feel like I've tried to push tempo after made baskets but there's no more "hustle the ball back in" animation from what I've seen.

Clearly they made this more like Live this year...Not feeling it at all...Defense iand the bounce pass are the only improvements i like but the right stick is clunky and feels just like live did with ridiculous crossovers
