Ha, that was a random jump from Reggie Miller and Allen Iverson to. . . Malik Rose? Either way, I totally understand the need to have as many players accounted for as possible. For instance, I was pumped about 2K adding a real John Salley to the classic Pistons squad (I don't think he was there in 2K11).

I'm always trying to piece together how the process works but if I heard right, a lot of players are a part of a retirement players association, which always 2K access (for a fee) to their rights as a group. Many retirees may not be a part of that group and thus must be negotiated with individually. This is what likely results in the random MIA's on different classic teams (like Malik Rose).

Not necessarily. Melo was on the West last year until they updated the rosters for the 2012 game.
