The Celtics were wearing black accessories in the video. They could have just went in and changed them before playing the game, but I'm holding on to hope that they got that fixed!

Also, speaking of moves that don't deserve a whole button...the fake pass button really isn't necessary. or the shot button for that matter. i wish 2k would just make up their mind and either pick the shot stick or the shot button rather than being redundant and having both. people would adjust quickly...i seriously doubt people would give up on the game just because 2k got rid of the shot button or the shot stick...they would adapt and learn to use what 2k gives them.
I agree about the pass fake. I think the most intutive place to put it is just tapping the pass button.

I made that post because the hopstep historically has been a very large source of cheese, and honestly half of that problem was because it had it's own button. But moreso why is the hopstep so important? Why not spin move, or eurostep, or stepback? To me, it's on equal footing with the the rest of the layups in 2k12. Or why not a button that helps with on the fly coaching?

As far as your problem with not being able to execute it in 2k12, do you use absolute shot stick or relative? I had that problem with relative, but once i switch to absolute it went away.

good. it made no sense to have a whole button dedicated such a trivial move.

true...but the real reason the hop step button was cheese is because of the lack of collision physics. the lack of contact made it so that you could just plow through people using the hop step...so it was the crappy physics that made it cheesy, not the fact that it had its own button - and that's on 2k for not implementing contact physics on hop steps. as long as 2k handles their end and provides proper contact on hop steps, there is nothing to worry about.

i use relative. i don't really like absolute, because i like my controls to correspond to the direction i'm actually moving. i might be able to get used to it, but I just always thought relative felt more intuitive.

Noooooo

Hopefully the improved physics will balance the dreaded hop step and other moves out. The real test will be when an offensive player hop steps into the defender. What will be the outcome? I dont expect perfection, but I do want to see less ghosting and the appearance of a solid collision.

As I think about it you really couldnt use guys like Nash, Magic, Kidd, ect to full potential on the break because of not having a fake pass option.
