Why do so many people cheese?!

The last 5 games I have played have been against people who cheese the whole game. I don't know how to stop it (I'm not that great of a player) and so I keep losing. Anyone else have this problem?

The only way to get rid of that problem is to play with sim people -- which is hard right now since playing with friends isn't working properly.

I play online and I can beat most cheesers. What things are you seeing? For most things a sim response can help.

I don't know if it technically qualifies, but they take threes nearly every possession, and make 70% of them, even with great defense. They try to steal every inbound pass, take charges at halfcourt, and so forth.

But, I think I may be getting the hang of it. Last guy I played picked the heat. I picked the Bobcats. I won by 27.

Good. I think the "cheesers" just have a low basketball IQ and are desperate for a win. I just play "basketball" and make adjustments to the nonsense. If they want to shoot 3's every possession, I contest them the best I can (they can't make'em all), box out to get rebounds, and score easy buckets. If they want to take charges I anticipate it and blow by them and make a smart play for a bucket. I use the defender's momentum against them when they try to steal in the full court & inbound pass situations by using good ball handlers and ball movement. Master the Isomotion dribble moves to get the ball up the court. Some of them get the point when they see the BS isn't working anymore, but the majority of them just quit.

People wants to win no matter of what, and on top of that this game rewards more the cheesy style and not simulation basketball

Yeah for quickmatches there are multiple problems. They made the game so that a casual player can come on and compete so they toned the sim settings down. It is way too easy to steal for quickmatches. You can play cheesy and face little to no penalties. Spam the steal button, hold turbo all day and no worries.

It's funny... I had a stretch the last time I played where I ran up against 8 or so sim-like players.

The worst part about the quick match on 360 is your opponent doesn't show up in your "recently played" list.

I would have liked to send them a message mentioning how much I enjoyed the game.

Exactly, at least last year we had sliders for oline leagues and unranked matches , but this year...
