freezing lately....any advice???

I am in my league playoff with squigglywhosan and the past 2 games have frozen mid-way. This hasn't happened since I got the game. Anyone have experience with freezing? Can playoff files get corrupt?? The first 3 games in the playoff went without a hitch though. It only happened the past 2 games.

My internet seemed to go out the same time when both games froze...Could this have something to do with it??? I wouldn't think since the internet has nothing to do with the game as I am not playing online.

Any other advice or possibilities if you have experienced it? This is a PS3 version BTW. Thanks!!!
