Online Delay?

Just wondering if anyone else has delay when they play online games. To me every time I play a quick rank match I usually experience a 1 second delay, where if I press X (PS3), it will pass the ball one second later. This delay has caused me to turn the ball consistently and it also affected my jump shot release & rebound/block timing. And because of the delay there is no way I can play on-ball defense now since one second is all my opponent needs to blow pass me. Could part of the reason be because I am from Australia, thus affecting connection quality as I am assuming most players are from the U.S?

Overall the online experience has been somewhat sub-par for me as I have to deal with the delay as well as trying to avoid a couple of cheap plays from my opponents (i.e., trying to draw a charge while I am dribbling up the court, as well as defenders going for on-ball steals).

It's been like that since as far as I can remeber when it comes to nba 2K games. It's between 0.5 second and one second delay. You get used to it.

Re: Online Delay?

It's called lag. Almost all online video games have it...

Re: Online Delay?

I think its specifically called "input lag".
When i first bought my samsung 55" LED tv i noticed this delay and looked into it, on my TV there is an option to change it to "Game Mode".
I think it dropped the graphics a bit but it removed the delay.
I hope this helps

Re: Online Delay?

I don't know... I would call it online input delay more than LAG. Imagine playing a FPS and you have a one second delay on your input. You simply coudn't play the game.

If you play FIFA you will have no online input delay either. You'll have lag but it will come and go you know, not like that consistent one second delay on your input.
