Still a problem with realistic Fouls/Offensive Rebounds?

I don't have the game yet, but from every box score I see posted the two biggest issues still seem to be there.

There are too few Fouls.
There are too few Offensive Rebounds.

Per NBA data Fouls should average out at 20 per game, and Offensive boards should be a third of Defensive ones (10/30 per game).

I don't have the game yet, but this disappoints me, and seems identical to last year. I don't know how realistic the game can be without the strategic consequences of players in foul trouble/fouling out. And with Offensive rebounds being an almost non-factor.

Full slider changes last year could not overcome this. And it seems really bad that, once more, they are so far from reality to start with.

Anyone else finding this? Or working on solutions?

So, why does everyone bust a nut over (opponents) 3 point shooting being a bit high (something that has always been easily tweakable) but not seem to give a damn over proper foul and rebound numbers?...

Or are people going game after game with realistic numbers?

With 12 minute quarters and higher foul sliders I have been able to get realistic foul numbers atleast.

Your approximation of fouls and offensive rebounds also implies that player play the game the same way the pros do, and individual teams don't make a difference (ie, orlando just doesnt send players to the offensive glass in real life).

Just in gameplay observation without any numbers to back it up, it certainly seems like there are substantially more fouls than 2k11, and slightly less offensive rebounds.


Also if you want to actually compare stats, rebound rate and foul rate would probably be the way to go as it factors in for pace where the raw averages do not.

put my game on SIMULATION. turned the CPU blocking fouls up to 80 and 85 i believe for shooting fouls.

turned CPU offense rebounding down to 30 and i thought it worked fine.

No, it doesn't. As per 2K11, it was the game. CPU v CPU was the same, it had close to zero to do with human influence.
Orlando (who were league average last year) or other teams have nothing to do with averages. Teams who are good at it will be at the top, teams that are bad at the bottom. But the game league average should still be near what it is in the NBA. As should the range of variance for the good/bad teams.

The issue on 2K11 seemed primarily to come down to one thing: Offensive players were simply not putting themselves in good positions for Off Rebounds. And in the designed plays they didn't have players breaking to the basket knowing the shot should be going up, etc. So sliders had little effect because they were simply not in any position to get a board frequently.

The latter concerns me if true.

In 11, with both sliders (CPU & human) at 100 Off Reb and 0 Def Reb the Offensive boards where still nowhere near. They were nearer 50% of what they should be. It was almost impossible to get even a single game with a 3 to 1 ratio (1 in 4). Statwise the absolute worst Off Reb team in the NBA last season had 21% (over 1 in 5).

That's good. Seemed impossible to do that last year (barring an extremely odd game).

So are you getting Off boards in the region of 20-30% of the total rebounds (at both ends of the glass)?
