DaCzar- Thanks for answering my question. It's good to know as defenders we will be able to still cause that action.

The animation where you get bumped and your guy gets fouled and loses control of the ball needs to go. Either call it a foul or find a better method for you to turn it over do recklessness which sounds like they did when they talked about how if you try to force your way in to the paint you may dribble the ball off someone.
Hopefully they'll add a rating/tendency that controls how well certain players keep their dribbles some guys like Nash are stellar at keep their dribble. I can settle with it being linked to handles, but that isn't always the case. My biggest gripe about CP3 is he picks up his dribble too early when along the baseline or when trapped and nobodies going to question his handles.

my worry about this is how small the corners are for side 3's. If the dimensions are not right theres no way u can keep from going out of bounds when u want to shoot 3's from the corners. If its super thin like it has been in previous games, nobody will shoot 3's from the corner which is very common in nba games.

I don't think this will be a big issue. Most corner three's are from guys spotting up not off the dribble. The reason guys don't dribble into the corner is because of what da Czar is talking about it gives the defense the advantage. I'm sure it will be an issue but a minor one if you play smart. There's little space on a real NBA court for 6'6the guys. Many player step out of bounds pump faking and driving after spotting up for the corner three will be nice to see this reflected in the game.

I agree, if you look at the gameplay videos from the event in Europe, Rudy hit a corner 3 with no problems so this shouldn't be an issue. But if you are someone who likes to work the baseline you need to re-access your game plan based off what czar is talking about.

(just to clarify, in this post i'm talking about the corner 3 area.)

I think the problem is a bigger issue in that the corner 3pt area in a video game there's a lot less room for error than in real life. I'm 6'2 and i can easily run along the sideline to the corner 3pter, turn around and run back without stepping out of bounds or on the 3pt line. But in video games pasts (not just 2k series), it seems like you had maybe 2-3 pixels to work with before you either step on the line or step out of bounds. But in reality there is a lot more wiggle room there. The force field kind of balanced that out, for if i tried to tap my controller slightly in any direction, i risk my guy doing an animation in which his foot steps on the line.

Have you tried doing triple threat out of the corner and seeing if it results in steps on the line?
This also raises an interesting issue. It always felt like the corner was smaller in game than it was IRL. Some shot animations make it impossible to hit a corner 3 cuz their feet aren't perfectly square unless the player is like 6'4" or less and their toe is always, always on the line.. LeBron's old jumper comes to mind right off the bat.

I figure it's been tweaked already, but I hope it doesn't persist. I like makin' the 6'6"+ 3pt specialists and like the corner 3. No sense in taking it if it's always gonna be a 2 pointer, ya know?

He also does it at the top of the key randomly. He'll pick up his dribble, have to pass to West, who is usually off the elbow and get the ball back to reset.

Never got why he always did it. Makes it easier for teams to deny him the ball after he passes.

Re: NBA 2K12 - Between the Lines (Sim Citi)

Good write up Czar. I can understand the concern people are expressing. But im also pretty optimistic that at this point at least, its not much of a problem. Mainly because with all the articles people and hands-on previews sights have been posting, one thing they have all consistently mentioned is how fluid the game moves and the responsiveness of the controls. And practically every writer has mentioned the ability to go out of bounds and jump over the scorers table, which means they were all very aware that the barrier was no longer there. Yet none of them mentioned this causing an issue with them accidentally, uncontrollably running out of bounds to a frustrating degree or when heading baseline. I think if it was a serious issue, someone would have mentioned it. Plus in Mo's trailer, there are two scenes where both Lebron and Tyreke Evans do a stepback near the line and maintain the ability to stay in bounds. All this makes me believe, or at least hopeful that this will work out

The article kinda scares me because he says 2k12 may not have that added feature that will get people going. So, is online association in the game or not? I know Czar isn't huge on online so maybe that is why he is not speaking on it or maybe he has been told its off bases but I am thinking with about a month to go 2K would have announced online association if it was in the game
