Problem with shots in the green not falling

I understand that 2k wants shots to be perfect this year, but even after turning on the indicator i'm noticing that if i time the release correctly my wide open shots are still bricking. I play with the Heat. There seems to be a few different ways to hit jumpers. One with a quick release, and one where you take your time. Both result in a perfect release, but whether or not the shot goes in seems to be random. Help? This is for online play.

Someone needs to make a video on how to properly shoot for this year.

Perfect release does not = guaranteed bucket. This isn't NBA The Inside. Ratings and defense still come into play.

Fatigue does aswell, because you can be wide open with a perfect release, and still get a rim out. It's really frustrating. Especially when you play online, and it's hard enough to get perfect release already.

I'm playing on All-Star and have a couple of hours worth of playing time now. I have shot countless jump shots that were wide open and green on the release indicator. I have made around 4. The rest have all missed. This is close / inside / 3 point range. Nothing drops.

It's still happening. It's kind of ruining it for me now. I don't know.

I can easily say I'm an expert 2k player. Play calls .. off ball controls, screens, etc.
But I started my season w LA, MIA, and Bos on Sim Pro .. its was difficult for a while but I stuck thru it .. after 5 games .. La was 1-4, Bos was 1-4 , surprisingly Mia was 5-0. Nonetheless ..My all my recs eventually got in the win columns (I had to practice specific freethrows cause I was missing a lot of them) .. specific jumpshots because of same. esp Paul Pierce .. sheeesh. That took me a while. Focused on play calling, defense .. quick plays
------------
Overall concept -- work on defense and buy your time on offense.
You have to be really aware - and remember the right dominant hand emphasis in the game. learn to call picks with any player, post up .. adjust crash board, pressure and help defense in game settings accordingly.
Use your team .. you dont have to guard everyman .. at least until you become comfortably. Look at D as a more flexible my player .. esp since your ai buddies are more involved this yr.
-------------
Can't teach everything in a quick post .. but start at sim pro or sim rookie .. and keep climbing up or going down till ur comfortable. Try cameras that give you more space for anticipation (hopefully you have an HD TV .. it looks really good - though you might have to sit closer to the TV) -- Imagine NBA Live 95 .. slanted court and all - but with incredibly upgraded graphics and gameplay. .. ie. skybox zoom 10 - height 7, or the high camera ..
--------------
If the sims modes don't work -- try default or casual .. they're pretty fun too. Remember, you're not Mr. Basketball - esp if you're not deep into the controls and playcalling system .. the AI is intelligent enough for you to have fun while learning the game. Start a 29 game season w about 2-3 teams and begin adjusting as you go along .. try to stick to it even if you're losing .. pretty soon - you'll wonder how you ever lost of modes like pro sim in the first place.
-----------
I know it helps to know that others who are very good at this game had to follow the steps too .. hopefully it softens the pride. Cause once you GET IT .. wow - this game is extremely deep man.
I'm taking all this time .. simply because I want you see it for what it is and enjoy it ... take an advice or two from up there .. u'll be pleasantly surprised.
--------
Oh and run thru as many tutorials as you can .. Most of the stufff you already know but you'll pick up one or two things that will make it worth it.
How can you really complain if you haven't been thru the entire tutorial .. at least once - right? Lots of air .. but hopefully it helps someone ..
Later.

Oh and just keep playing man - use the shot feed back so you don't over compensate .. but dont expect shots to go a significant amount of shots to go in with it .. just notice if you're consistently under or over shooting and adjust .. I think its most useful that way.

.......
Last one .. somepeople think the ai just stands around on offense if you dont call a play. wrong .. ever walk near a player without the ball and notice how the try to create spacing based on their tendencies ..
ie: cutting to hoop, moving to 3 point line (likely based on the complexity of their tendencies)
--- But you have to play on the less challenging difficulties to notice and get some work in w stuff like that. Use the high powered teams to survive until you get the hang of it .. notice in the tutorials .. it says release the ball at the height of the jump shot .. so your practice should be on doing that.. keep looking at the animation and keep trying to figure out what the height of the jump shot is ... you'll notice more dropping.
Also .. put some work in w that bank shot LT on xbox and shot .. its more forgiving .. which makes sense. So what would have been wide open jumpers .. now are wide open bank shots .. in time - you'll balance them out depending on the complexity of your mental game.
--------------
That should be enough for now .. later.
