Thumbs up when did you know you were part of something special..?

YOU CANNOT SAY THE INTRO cuz that's a given!
I have a complete home theatre with full surround and the works and when that opening Chicago Theme hit.. and the sound enveloped me and I'm staring at that tunnel with Jordan askin, "you ready?" I knew right away this was gonna be something special..

so you can't say that, tell me something else

here I'll go first..

I played a quick game..
96-97 Bulls vs Miami Heat

......somewhere along the course of the game a comparison popped up.. it was Michael Jordan vs Dwayne Wade (how they're doing for the game)

and that's when I realized "damn.. this is it" nevermind the fact that after that popover came up I went to Assignments? or whatever.. and saw it and my jaw just about dropped
who was checkin DWade? Michael Jordan
who was on Lebron? Scotty Pippen

like I realized what I had and what was going on.. it was just.. I was like yea... this is it this right here is it

the next game of course was my beloved Knicks vs Miami Heat again and I had ANTHONY MASON checkin Lebron James (you people prolly don't know but dude was bigger than Lebron and had mad ball skills), John "insane" Starks on Wade and watching Oakley and PAT-RICK EWING on the floor was damn awesome

Mason could be bigger in this game I think. Loved that team too!

My moment came playing as old school Lakers & hitting Divac with a no look pass & then later scoring a hook shot with Magic.

Lol why wouldn't we know Tom? I think it's safe to say that the overwhelming majority of us here are die hard basketball fans who are more than familiar with Mase's game & physicality.

When I was doing the Bulls vs Lakers challenge and I crossed Worthy and went up and switched hands in mid-air....I was like damn. I definitely saved that replay.

I'd say my first Jordan challenge, The Arrival. I'd seen all of MomentusCeltic's vids on how great Isomotion was in the hands of a skilled player with a superstar (Kobe). I love how 2K captured the differences/nuances between playing with a superstar versus a good player versus a run in the mill player.

But then I played as early-Jordan.

As effortless as playing with Kobe but just that much more special because they'd done the work to incorporate his moves. Playing with Jordan versus Larry Bird, McHale, etc. was just an experience. I purposely didn't play through the intro Lakers/Bulls championship. Then trying a few of the challenges and seeing how well they captured playing with Jordan and how differently he played as he aged - just ridiculous attention on 2K's part. And to have the commentary tailored to the specific games, and implemented so well - again, just superior work

This right here. I can't explain the feeling I get while playing with Jordan, it's like wow, 2k really nailed him! I used to think that the older, wiser, maturer Jordan was the best player but after playing with the 85' Jordan against the celtics, I don't know, man. I think all things considered, that young, athletic, I'll dunk on your head in front of yo mama Jordan was incredible!

So to answer the question, playing with the 85 Jordan got me, I forgot how great Money really was back then.

The initial visuals and details made a great first impression but I wanted and needed something much deeper before I got giddy. Great looking animations and classic teams wasn't going to cut it! lol

It was probably Thurs night when I dropped 40 with Amare against NO. I got almost everything down with the controls and the Knicks playbook. Everything clicked for the first time and I won my first game on default Pro. From there things have taken off and I'm 100% addicted to this game.

yeah, everyone talks about Lebron's size but I think Mase coulda checked him

Lebron obviously got the advantage in athleticism/leaping/speed but he ain't gonna outpower Mase and Mase got the ball skills to take Lebron

glad to see another Knicks oldschool fan though.. god I missed the hell out of the NBA's "glory days" (to me it is, not this crap the nba is putting out now but the old knicks-bulls rivalries and such is what i grew up on)
