player roles/trades question

i started a new association and i replaced the starting SF with a PF hoping that the already starting PF would move over to the SF position because he has a lot of range and I want to get the other PF in. I changed the SF into a role player and the PF into the starter. but whenever i start up a game, the original roster is still the starting roster. i then tried the SF into a bench warmer but it still didn't work. any suggestions?

also i traded for roger mason but he won't show up in the game roster. in the association menu, i can change his role but in game he won't show up so i can't even try and sub him in.

Did you go to the coaching options menu and change your rotations? It doesn't sound like you did.

Also you may want to put the subs into manual or the cpu will sub the PF playing off position for that SF you just converted into benchwarmer ... Finally, it might help to change the role of your PF into SF.
