I need help with losing. Let me explain.

In this game, no matter what the sliders, difficulty level, or whatever else. I have only lost two games. I hate winning all the time. In my mlb 09 franchise I am 26-22 and love that I go into every game not knowing if I'm going to win or lose.

Please don't get me wrong, I really don't care about winning in a video game, I'm not bragging, I don't think I'm amazing. I really want to lose. I'm completely envious of guys that I see posting and saying that they're currently 3-7 in their franchise or 22-22 or whatever else. I wish that could happen to me.

I have currently tried nearly every slider set on the OS forum. And I play realistically. I don't lead pass to death. I run plays, use the fast break, have a great post game. I even have the sliders all in the CPU's favor.

My inside shot is at 34, CPU 36
close shot 38, cpu 40. etc etc

I'm trying to make the game harder whilst keeping it realistic. I'm currently on superstar right now because those are the most realistic games I'm getting in terms of shooting percentages.

The two games that I lost, one was the first game I played of 2k10. The other was a loss to the spurs as the hornets. The CPU cannot seem to consistently play great, or even good basketball. And by no means do I think I'm amazing at this game. I just want to know what everyone has their game settings/sliders/whatever on that makes it possible to lose games. 7 games out of 10 I'm asleep at the wheel by halftime just coasting through the rest of the game. And it's getting old.

I started a Warriors franchise thinking that because they were a younger, weaker team, I'd actually have trouble winning with them. I started off great, I was losing to the rockets 62-61 going into the 4th quarter of the season opener. Then by some miracle I outscored them 28-6 in the 4th quarter and won 90-67. I figured maybe I just had a lucky quarter, so played my next game and went up by 25 points at halftime.

I'm not sure what it is exactly that I'm looking for. I'm a ps3 user so I don't have the patch. I just would like to know how some of you are doing in your franchise, what your record is, and what sliders or settings you're on that enable you to lose or have a tight game. I just really wish I could find a slider set or difficulty level or group of settings that made each game very competitive and not a 'gimme'

Thanks for your responses in advance. I could really use a lot of them to help me out. This may seem ridiculous but it's completely true and has taken all the enjoyment out of the game for me.

I can imagine. Only thing I can offer at least for your situation is to wait for the patch. It's going to make the game more difficult, because the defense is more aware of things. Hard to explain, but you should see the difference immediately.

Stop massing with the shooting sliders...it will only result in too many missed/made open/contested shots. When its getting to easy but I feel the shooting silder are ok I only work with Def. and Off. awareness slider. Then wait for the patch, is harder to get open looks post-patch.

The problem you're having is the same thing beats the CPU every time. The CPU has no memory of what happens. The CPU can't adjust. And worst of all the CPU has no desire to win, doesn't play tougher in tough situations.

Pared - Thank you for responding. As of this moment I'm not sure when the ps3 users will get the patch. I can only hope it's soon though. I had read a few of your posts and trust your judgement so I'm looking forward to the patch.

Keaton - I was only using the shooting sliders as an example as to how I have the sliders in their favor. Right now the D-AWR for the CPU is at 100. I can't really do anything else. O-AWR for them is at 70. So i can bump that up to 100 as well.

fcabanski - It seems as though somewhere, maybe on the back of 2k9's box. I read something about 'adaptive AI' or something. I guess that didn't make it into this years version huh? haha.

You're right though. They don't ever recognize anything your doing. Unless someone on your team has 20 points in the half, then they'll double. Other than that as far as stopping plays goes. Nothing, they have the memories of goldfish.
