I don't know what the thinking is behind the auto-post up, and I don't really care. The bottom line is that there are three fundamental dribbles in basketball: Control Dribble, Speed Dribble and Power Dribble.

The Post up is an extension of the Power Dribble, and by taking it away, you've taken a very fundamental part of basketball. At any point, any place, we should be able to turn our backs to the defender to protect the ball. From there we can back into him and have access to post moves, or we can back away and resume a control dribble.

Please put it back, and while you're at it, extend it to a whole Power Dribble mechanic for next year. See: Gary Payton.

Agreed, there really is no need to take the ability to do this anywhere on the court away.

At least patch th ability to manually do it. Let the player decide what he wants.

This was one of my gripes. It has gotten a bit better over time, but the ability to do this on command is a must.

agreed, it's really dumb... i know learned how to face up but still it would be better to have total control of when to post up and when not to

Totally agree.....But did you guys read or hear the reason they took it out? Did they have a good reason for taking it out?

So (for someone who can't play the demo yet), do you have any control over posting up? I really need to know what's going on there?

Agreed. Sir Charles (Charles Barkley for the youngsters) was also notorious for using the power dribble/post up while being no where near the paint - backing the defender down from as far away as the three point line. Isn't he the reason they implemented that five seconds back to basket rule?
