Pistons Gamers Enter Here (Your win % will go up 1000%!)

As an avid Pistons gamer in any basketball game (Except for NBA Street), I try to understand the strengths and weaknesses of my roster and provide a constant stream of offense and defense to punish my opponents.

This season, with the addition of Iverson creates some chaos for the opponents. Alongside Rip, Sheed, Stuckey, and Tayshaun ... the combination is too much to handle.

With that said, I have some of the sickest plays ever for the Pistons.

First off, here's my starting lineup.

Iverson
Rip
Prince
Johnson
Wallace

Everyone plays even minutes, as I changed them in the team rotation menu. Playing 5 minute quarters, Iverson or Rip is subbed out in the first, and Stuckey comes in.

The rotation allows all of my players to be fresh in every quarter, and depending on the how many points I'm up, the starters will be entirely fresh midway in the 4th quarter which is a huge advantage.

Enough said, here's the plays. I'll try and provide some videos later.

I have plays designed for Rip, A.I., Stuckey, Wallace, Johnson, Maxiell, and Prince. The efficicency of these plays are astonishing and I promise you will have no problem scoring.

PG-SF Pick & Roll

Very simple in design, takes up about 10 seconds to set up. Rasheed sets a screen for Tayshaun to cut alongside the baseline. He then comes up the middle of the paint to set a screen for the point guard at the top of the three point line.

Now you can run the play as is it's designed if you want to, but 99.9% of the time, whomever is guarding Prince is going to get destroyed by the screen leaving prince open under the basket. If you lead pass him there, any help defender will be out of position. It's a easy dunk every time.

SG-C or C-SG flash (I can't remember lol)

Rasheed sets up on the block for a post entry pass. After giving him the ball, Rip comes off a series of screens to become WIDE OPEN at the top of the key. At this spot, Hamilton's Cell Phone bars are at 4/5 or 5/5 if hot. Iverson or Stuckey runs to the corner behind the 3pt line if Rasheed is doubled.

This play is totally effective against against any defense. Sheed is in position for his offensive game, Rip's always open, and Iverson's Cell Phone bars will be at 3/5 which is his highest from that range. Too many options. Takes about 7-8 seconds to set up.

PG-PF High Screen and Roll

I like to run this play with Stuckey and Maxiell because when Max sets a screen with his 260lb frame it brutalizes who's running into him. Combine the fact that Stuckey's speed rating is over 90, so this play is way too hard to stop. If you're playing against a man defense.

I prefer Stuckey over Iverson because he can dunk the ball which has a higher success rate than a layup. This is not your typical pick & roll either as Maxiell will set the screen whenever Stuckey is in proximity. Even if the player defending Stuckey is not hit by the screen, it slows him down enough to not be in position to do anything.

If you do wait for the screen, you put yourself in a position to be double teamed, so I prefer to run by Maxiell while he's still moving. From that point on, Stuckey will have a clear lane to the basket for a dunk, or he can throw it to Maxiell who has a 99 standing dunk rating.

SG Wing Iso

Rip comes off a screen on the wing ready to receive the pass. 75% of the time his defender will be caught in it depending on who's setting it. Either way it's a money play for a quick 3 pointer, drive, or mid range shot. By the time his defender catches up with him, he's out of position if you drive. Pump fakes will work 85% of the time because of that as well. You can easily break down a man defense because of this play.

If Iverson is at shooting guard, it's even deadlier. He'll always beat his man off the dribble, and when help defense arrives, someone will always be open to pass to.

I hope this helps. I thought I'd share it with you guys after some guy I beat online sent me this.

My record online is 42-23 and I'm currently on a 5 game winning streak.

Edit:

I did change the team sliders for the Pistons.

Offensive tempo: 50-55
because not every play that I use takes up the shot clock. If I had it maxed out or way above 50, taking too long to get a good shot is not going to help the tempo. So even if I had a good look at the basket, I'd still miss.

Keeping it somewhat in the middle allows me to read and react to what the defense is giving me and make quality shots regardless of how much time has elapsed.

Defensive Pressure: Maxed to play lock down defense on the perimeter game as Rasheed and Amir Johnson are good enough shot blockers to allow penetration. If that's not working, I'll move it down to 60 to give slashers more space. Understand that you can't defend the perimeter and the paint perfectly, so something has to give.

Help Defense: 0
The last thing you want is for guys to drive and dish for open looks. Just let them drive into your bigs and hope for a hard foul or a blocked shot.

Fast Break: Maxed
. Tayshaun, Rip, Iverson, and Stuckey can run the floor faster than most at their position. It's a no brainier to max this out. Rip is one of the deadliest players in this game when it comes to being in the open floor. Why? Players like to sag off if there's a 3 or 2 on 1 break to attempt to take a charge or block the shot. Even if Rip is the only player on the break, he can stop and pop that mid range shot. That's what makes him unguardable. If you step up to defend the shot, he can just drive right around you for the layup.

Crash Boards: Maxed.
While the guards are running the floor, I don't want my bigs to be trailing behind if there's a loose rebound. I always want my players to crash the boards at all costs more than going for fast breaks. Offensive rebounds are a pain.

Love the post, I have been balling with the Pistons since the first 2k game. I will be abusing fools now with your info. I want to add something to it though.

With Billups gone you can and should bump up the offensive tempo a little. B.I.P Billups we will miss you - NEXT YEAR but this year we going all the way baby.
