In this thread, we post simple ways the player can make the gameplay more realistic

This is against the CPU, also.

Matchups: Before every game, go to "Choose Side" and switch over to the other team. Change their matchups as you see fit, not to help you win (obviously), but to be more realistic. i.e., if you're the Lakers and the CPU is the Spurs, switch over to the Spurs side and place Bowen on Kobe, then switch back. Also, you can edit Double-Teams and Pressure settings for the CPU's team

Crowd Volume: Before a game, go into the Presentation section of the start menu and raise the "Crowd Vol" slider depending on the team you're playing.

In general, the consensus is that the following teams have the loudest crowds:

Golden State
Boston
Phoenix
Cleveland
LA Lakers
New York
Denver
Sacramento
Oklahoma City

The following teams probably have the quietest crowds, if you can call a stadium full of people "quiet":

Memphis
Charlotte
Indiana
LA Clippers
Milwaukee
Minnesota

Notice a trend? Also, crowds are gonna generally be louder in rivalry games. I'll list some if requested.

Anyway, post your own methods.

How do I make the computer/ai make substitution changes? I play on 12 min quarters and the AI who was the cavs made very few sub changes. Lebron James played all 48 mins. Fatigue was on btw. Should I set subs to rotation or fatigue? It was on rotation when I played the cavs. When I play the ai they will not have realistic stats if their starters play for so many mins.

Try putting subs on "Rotation" and lowering the Fatigue slider for the CPU.

I never had this problem, however...

Re: In this thread, we post simple ways the player can make the gameplay more realist

Injuries/player accessories: While playing Season/Association mode, add accessories to your own players or even players around the league when an injury occurs. i.e., if a player injures his arm, give him a long arm sleeve, or if he injures his leg, give him a calf sleeve, etc.

CPU Reach-In Tendency: When teams enter the penalty (4 or more team fouls), they tend to reach in less, as ticky tack fouls like that will send a player to a line when it's simply not worth it. Lower the CPU's "Go For On-Ball Steals" tendency when the opposing team gets in the penalty.

Also, a question. Does setting a player's Defensive Pressure to "Sag Off" make him less aggressive defensively? As in he won't go for blocks, etc.? That could be good for players in foul trouble.

Also, to help with the first method, here's a list of big men who consistently command a double team in the post, so if you're using that team against the CPU, you can set the CPU's Defensive Pressure against them to "Double In The Post."

I wasn't sure about all of these-- some are just speculation. However, the ones in bold I am 100% sure are correct.

Tim Duncan
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Eddy Curry
Shaquille O'Neal

Elton Brand
Dwight Howard
Kevin Garnett
Carlos Boozer
Pau Gasol
Emeka Okafor
Rasheed Wallace
Yao Ming
Jermaine O'Neal
Al Jefferson

Good and interesting thread, I'll be sure to implement some of these ideas into my Association once I start it up.

Are you saying the CPU won't do this automatically? Is there any way to set it permanently in the coach settings or something?
