Re: NBA 2K9 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

I just changed to movies, PS3 version looks even more amazing to me.

Just saw a great play that would of worked out if I expected it - Fisher trying to pass to Odom on the wing, Pierce (me) taps the ball and Rondo notices it's heading out of bounds so instead of just grabbing for it he does one of those diving animations, only when he throws it in instead of being totally random, he basically just pushed it to the right, and it was just rolling down the court in a straight line. I didn't notice that right away as Pierce so I was a half step behind Odom but we ran a foot race to finally get the ball in front of Doc.

Thats what i'm saying it's actually the first time i've ever seen a more photorealstic game.

NBA Live 09 ain't no slouch either ,but it takes it's inspiration from an artistic standpoint which can be respected as well.

the demo is nice cant wait to get the game. Rondo di his little one hand pump fake when he drove, the defensive ai is sick the game is completely different from 2k8.

You know whats interesting is that ea released live 09 demo like a month before the launch. hoping that if people play it for a while it will sell more in the end. and with 2k they release the demo the weekend before the launch hoping to build up the suspence of the people which thet hope will lead to more sales, which they have always done but never took this long to realese the demo.....So we ll see in the end which one is champ......in my opinion 2k9 will be once again

Earlier, Kobe dove on the floor as the ball got tipped on a pass -- he slid on his stomach and still didn't quite get to the ball and sort of shimmied forward and barely tapped it out with his hand. The Celtics got the ball, but I was absolutely amazed at the animation -- it looked so real they way he reached forward on the ground after the initial dive failed.

That jab-step delay thing will kill my game with Melo. I really hope that's not in the final.

As for you guys going on and on about which system 2k (or any other game) looks better in, to each his own. It's getting old. The 360 has Xbox Live, which is hands down a lot better than PS3's free service. Some features are better on the PS3 some on the 360. The graphic differences are so minuscule, they shouldn't even matter. If you have both systems and feel that a certain game looks better on one of those certain system, then buy it for that system! We're suppose be talking about a great basketball game here!

I personally have a PS3, works for me and it's good enough for me. I wanted blu-ray and I wanted Metal Gear, plain and simple. Couldn't afford both. I've had a 360 in the past (traded it in) and played 2k8 a lot on both, and there isn't a huge difference. The graphics weren't better on the 360 or PS3, they were just different.

I know 2k9 is gonna be a great game on both. PERIOD!
yeah, there wasn't much of a difference last year between both, but it's a bit noticeable this year

How the hell do you execute dribble moves? Moving the left analog is doing nothing for me.

And yes, there are jaggies on the PS3 version, because it's compressed and it's a demo. Idiots!
looks great on the 360... very smooth compared to 2k8 IMO. Interestingly the 360 demo is larger 520MB

I was concerned it would be another jaggie texture mess like 2k8 but no, this game looks like a bunch of little NBA players are living in my tv.

the animations, textures, courts, atmosphere, faces and image quality are all improved from 2k8 and the game play... heavenly bro, heavenly

still not as good dynamic lighting as Live 09 but somehow it looks more realistic. I'm guessing it depends on what court you are playing on as well.
