Arrow The Boat's NBA 2k12 Slider Set

I know I'm not very well-known in the OS community, but I want to start somewhere. Hopefully some people will like these sliders I've spent all this time working on (yes, since the game's release.) I'd like anyone with any questions to feel free to ask about why I may have a certain setting at something. So without further ado, I present my much-labored-over slider set for NBA 2K12. Please enjoy and please respond, positively or negatively.

Note: All ratings are for both User and CPU. I believe that the best slider sets are the ones that have identical values for both User and CPU sliders. It shouldn't be a surprise that this results in more of a balanced game.

I've noticed that depending on whether you have playcalling on Auto or Manual, you get different, yet realistic results. I personally have no problem with either. Auto can be nice if you want more of a "flow" to your game with the coach or PG making the calls for you (running these plays can make it interesting and sometimes more competitive.) Manual is of course fine because calling one's own plays is always a fun part of the game, and fun can be had even when no plays are called at all, as I believe the offensive tendencies in the slider set come out the most. But play around with these and see what you like for realism/fun.

Re: The Boat's NBA 2k12 Slider Set

Good work! In terms of Pro sliders, I really like these and TrueGamer's the best. It made the CPU play realistically and the strengths and weaknesses of all the players real were apparent and if you did things right, you would win, but if you didnt execute in an area prioerly, the AI could take advantage.

This made me have to play a well-executed game; not perfect execution but the performance really reflected execution. Well done. I will post stats and suggestions in the coming days.

Re: The Boat's NBA 2k12 Slider Set

I agree with the post above. Do it right and you will win. Get lazy and expect a loss.

After playing 2 games, I noticed that 3PT% is at 50% for both teams.

A few more tweaks and this could be the best slider so far.

Re: The Boat's NBA 2k12 Slider Set

Thank you guys so much for the feedback! Glad to know these are working out for some people. And I know that they aren't perfect yet, but then again, I'm not sure anyone could ever create a perfect slider set. There are too many variables. But this is the closest to perfection that I've been able to get and I would greatly appreciate your guys' input so we can turn this into the best slider set out there for this game! Hopefully the word will spread and everybody will be able to enjoy the game like it's meant to be played.

Keep tweaking the sliders; more people need to try this set.

The Boat and TrueGamer's are the best sliders on PRO difficulty.

Re: The Boat's NBA 2k12 Slider Set

TrueGamer's was probably the most influential outside set in the process of creating mine.

And feel free to tweak mine in favor of TrueGamer's set or vice versa, until you get the best of both to create the best gameplay you can!

Re: The Boat's NBA 2k12 Slider Set

After a few games, this is what I have noticed:

-Driving and Shooting Moves work well with this set when the occasion is there (ie. physical size mismatch, speed mismatch)

-Fouls are more accurately called
-The User Offense and Tendencies are very good
-Players play according to abilities and attributes, and as a point guard, I haad to make good decisions with my players

-Rebounding is very good and realistic. Size,Strength Hustle and Positioning will win you most boards.
===

-I would tweak CPU Offense and Tendencies, I want the CPU to attack more
-Change Backdoor Cuts to 100
