So I take it the CAP limit means no...

recreating an entire league worth of rosters from a specific season, right? That's too bad because my mind has been running around with cool ways to implement that.

If an entire league is impossible to create, is anyone planning on creating maybe the playoff teams from say....'85-86? That would be phenomenal. The Celtics and Bulls are already there. I'd really love to see that Laker team and Houston with the twin towers. Atlanta with 'Nique, Nuggets with Alex English, Mavs with Mark Aguirre.... the Sixers with Erving and Barkley, Bobby Jones and Mo Cheeks!

Even if we couldn't start seasons or franchises with the whole league (how sweet would it be to create say Bird and Magic's rookie year, and then plug in all the draft picks on a year to year basis? I know it wouldn't work because of expansion, but still)....anyway, even though we apparently can't do that we could at least recreate playoffs from virtually any season we wanted to, right?

I'm asking because I don't have the skill or patience to create rosters and I'm reallllly hoping somebody here thinks this would be as cool as I do.

Re: So I take it the CAP limit means no...

i am currently working on a 89-90 roster. the cap limit is 200 and there are roughly 60 players on the games historic teams that were playing then. 27 teams were in the league that yr so thats 324 players, that leaves around 60 guys that i will rename using current players in the league. this way i can accomplish pretty accurate 12 man rosters for all teams.

the only other way around the cap limit is through association mode and using the draft class feature to fill out the rosters. i did this last year for my 93 through 95 rosters but i dont think they were as well received since you cant share the association saves via 2kshare and playing a quick game required simming to the matchup you wanted, it didnt bother me but for some reason the association rosters werent any where near as popular as my previous rosters even though i felt they were possibly my best work to date.

i usually start out making a season from the late 80s or early 90s anyway but since the 90 hawks, bulls, cavs and pistons were already complete and the 91 lakers and 92 blazers were pretty close to the same core group it was like getting a good head start.

Re: So I take it the CAP limit means no...

2K generally listen and listen well. We need to force the point home that the CAP limit must be 360 players. This allows for 30 12 man teams.

2K also need to bring back the missing all stars from yesteryear and allow CAPS made from 2K10 to be uploaded to 2K11. Even if their programming has changed there must be a way to do this.

Also, 2K, can't you just go and release a NBA 2K "Klassics" game? It sure seems like enough of us would buy a $20 expansion game full of plays from 1980-1999. With ability to import rosters back and forth. Be great to play a career mode with and legend from their rookie year, Magic, Bird, Jordan, Hakeem.
