I run a Myleague featuring all college teams. experimented with multiple rosters with 33 game seasons and one 82 game - which included using the default 2k roster. Actually had the exact same issue on ps4 before switching to ps5 in late December but didn't think anything of it.

Oddly enough I just simmed a season did the off-season and it worked without issue. Could’ve been lucky. With custom rosters.

I don't know if everyone here is talking about next-gen only, but just for anyone reading who has current-gen and needs clarification: There is no problem with simming / advancing seasons — whether with default or custom rosters — on current-gen MyLeague with 82-game seasons (I didn't test other season lengths). I tested all the way into the 2040s with no issues.
