Why did 2k drop gameplay support for next gen?

Seems like last gen getting more love then next gen.Mike been Capping about this being a new engine and had the nerve to charge us 70 bucks .what I get from this next gen is like a Dr stopped in the Middle of surgery and said f*** it move on to the next patient (nba 2k22)

Their gameplay director was hospitalized. He also mentioned a lot of the things that need fixing or to dangerous to patch and need to be implemented in to next years game. Keep in mind, they are working on two versions of the game. Current and next gen and with the game being released so late, im sure they are at the point in time of the year where they are focused on next years game.

Working in the industry... I have to warn to be careful what you wish for. At what point of people saying this game is "unplayable" do you not try and fix and just focus on making next years game playable?

So not sure if you were just looking to complain , which is your prerogative. But if you're looking for an answer, thats it . Not saying its acceptable or you should want that but its definitely an answer to your question of "WHY" they aren't patching.

Hence the reason why I absolutely HATE when people call the game "unplayable". No...you just don't like to play it as it's currently is.

Knowingly this game is subpar then last gen?
2k need to be transparent sometimes . Nothing is stoping them from making a quick tweet or something this is not the 90's

Czar , the gameplay director, has been EXTREMELY transparent. Also, I never know what you guys expect lmao I dont think anyone who is EMPLOYED by a company has free reign, or an obligation, to go on the internet and bash the game and encourage people to not buy it, to make you happy bro lol

But ill let you vent because this obviously is not a productive thread where you are looking for an answer to anything . You're just looking to be frustrated, so have at it .

That's not Mike's responsibility he doesn't decide what to charge for the game. That's Take Two Strauss Zelnick decided to raise the prices.

Re Da Czar, the idea that one person being ill caused the complete lack of gameplay patches is ludicrous. This is a billion dollar company...the game makes them 100s of millions on profit each year.

The reality is the game came out late, most people don’t have next gen yet, and they have ‘moved on’ to 2K22 when they can inprove the game and cash in when more people have next gen machines. That is a commercial decision. Nothing more, nothing less.

Not supporting those of us who paid $70 is poor form, but this is what happens in business.
