NBA 2k18 jersey selection question

So I know the game is old, but this problem is kinda annoying and I'd like to know why I have it. So the game includes some of the all-time legends and I downloaded a custom all-time roster where the legends are on the franchises they played for with no duplicates, but with this roster I can't select some of the alternate jerseys the teams wore like any of the city jerseys or like the classic striped Hornets one. Any reason for this and is there a fix for this?
