Advice for taking MyLeague beyond 5 years

Has anyone had success with taking a MyLeague beyond 5 years?

Are there any other tricks that one can do to try and push a somewhat realistic sim to the ten year mark? I'm willing manually adjust some things as they get out of whack down the line.

I usually control all teams and try to balance the league. I think the changes in the landscape of the league in ten years is awesome to watch.

Thanks in advance!

You'll want to edit draft classes, they will tend to flood the game with way too many players in the 80s. I've been editing down to three 85-89s and five 80-84s in a class but this is still too many tbh. Also in my case they didn't give me enough megastars (95+) once Lebron/Steph/KD age out, went down to only one 95+ until I started editing classes.

This may sound tedious but quick editing potentials is pretty fast tbh.

Thank you for that tidbit - I'll definitely put it to use.

What progression sliders do you use?

IMO, you should only have one 85-89 every 2-3 years in a class, or maybe even rarer than that. Those guys are really rare, we've just been lucky with Spida and Luka.

In my settings, I have draft quality settings at 44. In addition, I global edit each draft class where their I subtract 1 year from their beginning max age and 2 years from their ending max age. I just leave potential ratings untouched. This is helpful for when you fully scout a player and can see his potential. His beginning peak age will determine if he will fully realize that potential or not.

I'd actually say the opposite. This year we have Doncic, last year we had Mitchell, In 2017 we had Ben Simmons (even though he didn't play that year, he was still drafted then). Before that it was Towns in 2016. That's 4 years in a row of having 85-89 guys as rookies.

If you want to go back farther, you had Lillard in 2013 and Kyrie in 2012 who could've arguably been 85-89. Then Blake in 2011 who was MVP caliber in his rookie season and Tyreke Evans in 2010 who is one of the few rookies to ever average 20+ PPG. I'd be willing to bet money that Zion or RJ Barrett could end up in that 85-89 range as rookies next season.

For me, the key is their potentials. I think it's fine to have 85-89 guys as long as they don't all have crazy high potentials. Looking at just the guys that I listed there, Kyrie, Blake Griffin, Tyreke Evans and KAT have all improved since their rookie seasons, but not tremendously. Especially with Tyreke Evans and Blake Griffin who pretty much peaked during their first year in the league.

How do you globally edit from inside MyLeague?

Probably at the end of the season when you you are prompted if you want to generate a draft class, import one or create one
