Face Scan always lighter than my player's body. What scan conditions fix/reduce this?

I had the same issue in 2k17 (never purchased 2k18), and I'm not the only with this issue as I see many other players online running around like they've got powder on their face.

It seems to only be an issue effecting the darker skin tones. Otherwise, my scans are perfect, and the lighter I make my player, the issue disappears (disappears completely if I make him white), but I kind of want to match my skin tone, or why else scan my face?

My question is this, I have some darker skinned players online without faces that a several shades lighter, so I figure it must be possible to achieve. I've tried both indoor and outdoor lighting with no luck. Have any of you run into this issue and figured your way out of it? Thanks.
