Cheesers ALWAYS break the system, that's what they do, that's why they exist.

It's on 2K to create a system that isn't instantly broken EVERY YEAR, deal with it better when it does, or separate the modes so that those who want to deal with that can without ruining the experience for everyone else.

Geesice was earning over 100k xp each game last year, and no one cried or nerfed him, infact 2ktv celebrated him. I don't care if the cheesers get their attributes 1 or 2 months before someone like me who plays the game the right way; I just care that I probably won't get those attributes at all now.

Hi Yeshua,

Thank you for your e-mail.

I'm sorry to hear you have been unable to contact the UK support team.

Unfortunately neither they or ourselves would be able to assist with your query. Once your purchase from the PlayStation Store has been downloaded or used it is no longer refundable unless the game is deemed to be faulty.

If you are unhappy with NBA 2K19, I can only advise contacting 2K regarding your concerns as they will be best placed to answer any queries or concerns you have.

Thanks,

Natasha

I've seen stuff like that on Twitch ; guys taking 70 shots a game, intentionally turning the ball over on every possession to get easy blocks, attempting 45 alley oops, etc. Just absolutely horrible exploitation with no respect for actual basketball, then at the end the game rewards them for it.

After a while it becomes pretty plainly obvious that dedicated Park/Pro Am/Rec guys do not care at all about Career mode, for them it's just a grinding tool to prepare for online. It really makes you wonder why 2K insists on having Career and the online modes interconnected at all.

This guy's rant is absolutely on point: https://streamable.com/edl9x

It probably deserves it's own thread

We live in a capitalist society so you can't really blame a business for trying to maximize their profits, but at what point does it sacrifice the art and integrity of the game? To me we are already passed that point.

As someone who has enjoyed basketball games since the 90's it's just so utterly saddening to know that the game is clearly on the path towards money being directly linked the reward systems in our brains in videogames. We're not talking about 2K raising the price of buying the actual game. No, that wouldn't affect the inner workings of the game. They're making money a key part of the way the inner game functions, after you buy it. And they're not the only game doing it.

If you think of the MyPlayer users as mice, trying to get that cheese reward, how do we achieve that reward feeling in our brain? It's not by playing the game in a high quality way that makes the player DESERVE leveling up and therefore having a more skillful player that wins games. Nope, the way you trigger that reward feeling comes from paying real world money. It also comes from "grinding", but the grind path is meaningless if there's an option to bypa$$ it.

When you see a star MyPlayer rated 85 overall you don't think "wow they must be a skilled/invested player to get to that level", you think "he paid money to get there and if i want to get there i need to pay too". You don't respect star MyPlayers, because it's not that kind of system. There's nothing respectable about someone who pays to win. Money has cheapened the game, ironically.

Videogames are supposed to be a fantasy world; an escape from reality. In terms of the art, that's what they're for. You buy the game, you go get immersed and forget about the world. You buy a movie, you go get a immersed and forget about the world. The art of escapism. Imagine buying a movie and then it stops at half time and asks you to pay $3 to continue watching.

You can no longer escape the reality that money is power. 2K isn't escapism from reality anymore. It's just a digital expression of capitalist reality. And it's sad.

Solution? The only way out is if they unlinked VC from attributes and made it so the only way to increase overall rating is to grind. Use VC as the only way to get cool clothes, add-ons, etc. Then VC can exist AND the integrity of progressing within the game is in tact too.
This is such a beautiful and very well written post. ✔️✔️✔️

This is my last year with 2K by the way. I’ve been with them since 2K11.The game it’s self is already 60- $100. I’m tired of having to pay so much money to keep up with other players who are already a 87 or 90. I’m a park player. If you’re below 80 there is nowhere to play in the park. Friends are not always playing 2K. In this case you have to squad up with other people which is impossible. Everyone just wants to squad up with 90’s and high 80’s. It’s incredibly annoying. I really miss the myplayer blacktop from 2K13.
