NBA 2K18 Questions Thread: Hands-On Gameplay Aug 3rd

Hi all,

I'm heading to 2K Games in Novato, CA later today, and tomorrow will be getting a chance to play some NBA 2K18. I asked on Twitter already (@MikeLowe47), but wanted to start a thread as well for you folks to ask any questions that you may want answered about gameplay.

Keep in mind, this is just in regards to gameplay. Please be specific and constructive. I'll only be asking the best questions, so there's some motivation for you!

Awesome, definitely appreciate you reaching out for questions beforehand!

I do have a couple:

Has more progress been made on sliding/warping?

In regards to the AI: will CPU defenders have more human-like reactions, or will they still react more on user inputs?

How well have they differentiated players in terms of speed, strength, etc.? Will I be able to take advantage of mismatches both on the perimeter and in the post?

How are fast breaks this year? Do the AI teammates fill the lanes correctly (ie go outside when expected, or cut to the basket when expected), and do they space the floor effectively on the break to make it so one defender can't cover 2-3 players?

How is the responsiveness of user input?

Are players better at getting to their spots quickly, rather than getting hung up on other players, the stanchion, refs, etc.? Do they have a sense of urgency when running a play?

Can you break out of box out animations (ie the CPU is boxing me out and I want to get back on defense, can I actually move or do I have to wait until the CPU grabs the rebound)?

Menu's have they changed or streamlined.

Do players still get caught up on each other a lot?
