The only acknowledgement I ever saw of the first Park After Dark being an utter failure was a brief, PR-scrubbed mention on 2KTV. Quote:

"We know that some of you had issues playing games on the last Park After Dark, and we were a-may-zed by how many people turned out for the event. But I want you guys to know, our server team IS ON IT. And they will do everything they can to make sure the next event is better than the last."

https://youtu.be/cjfke8CXKMc?list=PL...0ZVFBJ3yw&t=37

Why would you be amazed at the turnout when you'd forced us to click through pop-up adver-messages promoting the event every time we turned on the game?

I guess "everything they can" amounted to "hope fewer people show up next time, since the first was such a disappointment."

Sad really, it's almost as if they think they didn't advertise it. For some reason I'm kinda looking forward to seeing how they damage control this time around. Gonna have me looking like DeMar...

Simply put, if 2K is going to charge so much money for this game (aka everything fun costs VC) then invest in your servers. I mean seriously, how this still a thing? People think that COD supply drops are a cash grab, but at least you can still play online with friends in all the game modes without having to purchase them (just an example, I hate COD). If you want to play like 80-90% of the game on 2K you have to spend VC to be half way decent online or even offline. This game is pay to play to the fullest, at least if you are going to continue this practice then you should have 99.9% perfect servers, end of story.

It's actually sad how horrible this game has become with this practice, there is no way you can earn enough VC to play the game at a high level and also have any type of life.

How convenient was it that during double rep weekend, you could barely get any park games going. I think I only had 10mins of actual gameplay and an hour of loading/re-loading.

It's been brought up a bunch but I'll do it again because it's that important to me and many others.

It costs $50 to get 200k VC. So basically, the same amount as a new game, on top of what we already paid for. You can get your guy to an 86 and have all the animations with that much.

But to get it to a 95 would cost minimum 250k. And in addition to the extra VC you'd have to earn, you'd have to spend roughly the same amount of time to grind that player up as you would when playing a single player game with a lengthy story line.

So the philosophy to get to 86 is to either grind for weeks and weeks, or to just pay up front...And then get to 95 to grind more and more. It's really really burned me out and is why if they continue with the same road next year, I'm out. Haven't even mentioned that getting badges is mostly guess work, still plenty of discussions out there on how to get some of the badges.

It's really awful, and then there's the whole deal of "Why are we paying so much extra for so little return". I mean, a game salary is between 300-400 for most of us once we hit the second season. We play a single game and still can't afford some of the shoes they put out there...or to buy a team celebration...
