"Welcome, fans, to the FIBA World Championships!"
Someone on the NBA2K subReddit had this line suddenly pop up from their PA announcer in 2K16.
This sounds legit--the mode must have been cut out at the last minute, which would help explain the national teams in 2K17.
Perhaps a last-minute legal hangup?

Honestly, I heard this too yesterday. I don't know why I didn't record it or even think twice about it.

Never heard that before. It's the exact same thing I heard. It was after a time out.

Lots of people have heard it. They probably wanted to get national teams in the game last year but couldn't make it happen.
