Although I didn't pick up NBA2k15, if it's the same as NBA2k14, then you should be able to play single player offline mode to its fullest. 2k14 servers have been cut off and I'm still playing 2k14 completely offline.

On release week, there were initial complaints about 14 not allowing the gamer to play offline (they're MyGm files weren't working properly; they couldn't boot it up or something). I was massively concerned as well because I'm strictly an offline gamer. Someone said to turn off your internet connection through your PS4 setting (or XB1 setting) BEFORE starting up the game. It worked. I'm happy. Forever offline in my 14' MyGM franchise.

If you're connected to the internet when starting up a franchise, that particular file will forever be linked to the online world. When 2k servers for shuts down, you'll be out of luck. Turning off your internet connection before starting up your game should do the trick. The only concern is roster updates and how that would work. I never updated my 14 rosters. I stuck with the default rosters.

Mike, I have a question to ask you. I was directed by OG to ask since this might be more in your field of expertise.

There was talk that the ball stripping on layups were improved, but is there some sort of balance or risk/reward to this?

I thought it was overpowered somewhat in 2k15 to be honest. Playing offline was fine or user vs. user with real NBA teams, but in the Park/JRC it was brutal.

Ex 1: Even if I made the correct move or the ball was above my head, I would be locked in an animation that forces the ball to come down. Even though

Ex 2: If I spam square on a guy driving for a layup and I'm on the opposite side of the ball with his body in between, I would get a boost and strip even if my timing was slightly late. Which shouldn't happen because I was in a disadvantageous position. There was no risk for guys spamming steal all day, except for the occasional foul.

I guess what I'm trying to ask is will the layup ball strip be more timing and position based rather than rating based? I know rating factors in but position and timing I feel are more important than the players rating involved in the exchange. I feel there should there be more of a risk when attempting this, more fouls should be called or more whiffs on the steal if not in an ideal position.

Also, will the new foot planting technology be a factor in limiting animations where guys get a speed boost just to strip when they really have no chance to catch you?

Can you talk about what was done for close outs? Will we see realistic close outs with physics playing a factor with momentum and eliminate the speed in which they close out as well as the magical recovery from running in 1 direction but still stopping player who decides to drive? Some call this i believe crab like close outs?

Also will we see fouls on jump shooters on occasion with close outs to eliminate players just contesting every shot attempt with no consequences?

would it be possible to make the shot meter a fatigue meter and move the shot meter to a different locale so it doesn't get covered by refs, the crowd, or other players on the court and disrupt game play?
