i'm really liking this list, some good diversity of music that I can see myself not going to the music menu and checking off their song.

Every freaking year, they're doing the same thing. They don't care if the songs appear to the masses or not. Last year, i like about 3 songs out of what? 20-30? The same thing this year lol.
Rap has nothing to do with race.

Hip Hop has nothing to do with race.

Hip Hop is a culture. Rap is a genre of music. And both are universal. Hip Hop breaks those barriers. It doesn't reinforce them.

I'm white. And I already knew the majority of those artists.

This playlist isn't near as bad as last year but what 2K needs to let us do is let us have the option to play our own music in the game that way everyone is happy.

The roots of rap and it's meaning do have a strong association with black culture, though. Artists like Macklemore and other white rappers have often mentioned needing to understand their place in the music and culture.

I'm not saying you're wrong exactly, just with white rappers continually getting a bigger spotlight than black rappers it's something more and more that we have to keep in mind (see Azealia Banks).

It's a system limitation...neither system can save music on the hard drive.

Absolutely. But it was never meant to be about race. Ever. It was supposed to be about equality, honesty, unity.

Race doesn't come into it. When I think about rappers I don't think of them in terms of black and white. I think o them in terms of good and wack.

It's like people who say basketball is a black man's sport because the majority of nba players are black. That's one league it doesnt represent the entire game. From kids in Mongolia to professionals in Europe and America. The game exists everywhere. It's universal. And there was a time when black people weren't even allowed to play. The first person to dunk in an nba game was white (Mikan).

Race shouldn't come into it. Especially with the culture of Hip Hop. It represents a mindset. A way of life. Just because youre white doesn't mean you can't appreciate it and it definitely doesn't mean you can't be a part of it.

"Rap is something you do. Hip Hop is something you live" - KRS One.
