Re: 2K15 Post Your Facescan Thread

I've probably spent more time trying to scan my face than actually playing the game.

I've tried 3 different rooms in the house. Multiple variations of lighting including; daylight only, daylight and cellphone light, daylight and a single floodlamp, daylight and 2 floodlamps in a "v" formation.

I've tried holding the Ps4 camera, I've tried it while on a desk, I've done it eye level, with my chin up, with a white A4 sheet of paper under my face.

The frustrations of trying to get this to work is just astounding. I really hope some work is done by 2k 'coz it just doesn't work right.

Here's something they could add:

-Real time feed back. I think this is were most of the frustration stems from. TELL ME what I'm doing wrong so I can fix it. Right now it's just guess work.
-Instead of a "just rotate head slowly" system. Wouldn't something like "Look Up"...scans for 10 seconds, "now look to your right" ... scans again. System be a better way to get more consistent results?
-Let me skip that intro speech. I've heard this **** over 100 times, shut up.

And since I don't want to play MyCareer without getting this done, here's to more of this in the coming week

Xbox One. Took 1 floor lamp, 2 tabletop lamps, 1 cellphone light and about 6 hours of ridicule from the wife, kids, and the neighbors.

Even though I got a respectable pic I really believe this feature is faulty. No way it should take some of the goofy acts we are trying. It shouldn't be this tough. From what I'm reading it's only a very small % of gamer's who have been able to get it to work.

I 100% agree with feedback while scanning. I think they should place that face gird thing they show you at the end, on the screen while scanning, so you know where your head should be.

I don't get it. XB1 - Tried this set-up this morning. Kinect at eye-level, propped-up. Sunlight coming in, with a big fish tank light shining in my face, light also hitting me on the left and the right. It looked great on screen. Again, the facescans came out horrible.

Here's the best one I got out of this set-up.

Re: 2K15 Post Your Facescan Thread

For Xbox One cats, I saw a YouTube video where it said less light works. I tried it and got a decent result. Low reference points, around 2000, but everything was on line and looks very similar to me. I just used one room light from the ceiling. This was after having failed scans trying to use every free lamp and cell phone flashlight in my house. The guy from the video said the Kinect camera is sophisticated enough to find and capture you with little light and more light washes out the scan. Try it and see.

I noticed that too. Less light, you get a more accurate skin tone. But, I can't even get a scan that looks like a human-being.
