Wow did not know that. I knew that custom rosters were there (as they are still there when the servers are down) but didn't know other stuff was too.

We need to get an answer for this. Those 2k guys are all over the place when they want to show off stuff but when people need answers they get ghost. Now is the time to be apart of a community. if you are going to shill your game out then you need to answer for stuff like this,

I myself don't have the console or game yet (Europe yeey), but from what I've heard the ability to edit defensive settings, play vs a human in MyGM and the body edit stuff.

I'm pretty sure Points of Emphasis = Defensive Assignments.

What I mean, yes Def. Assign. is gone (on ball/off ball/over/under/switch/etc etc) but I am pretty sure that the PoE settings are now changing those in the background.

For example:

If you select "limit outside shots" what I believe 2K did was have the def. assignments preset ala "lockdown paint/etc..." from 13. So PoE probably changes def. assign. in the background in conjunction with coach sliders (in background) since those are gone too (all that you can manually change for coach sliders are; run plays and two other ones).

So in reality doing this will actually get more people using coaching adjustments and def. assignment adjustments but just thru the PoE interface. Sucks for the Coach Tibs in all of us, who want to manually set the defensive settings, but if this gets more people to alter their strategy during the game then I am down with it.

I don't even have a next-gen console yet but just like any new system b4 this one people should expect an endless parade of bugs an missteps in the first year, the first year of the infinity engine in madden last year is a good example, last year it was a bit messy but they tightened it up considerably now in yr 2... I guess the question I would ask people is are any of these bugs or omissions enough to recommend not getting the game/system for a while?

Removal of individual defensive settings are inexcusable but a good excuse for the coach profiles would probably be that IRL, Coach Tibs can't change sliders that go from 0 to 100 to control his team's behaviours.

The defense AI seems a lot smarter this year. I can forgive its shortcomings because the game on the court seems so polished. The most amazing basketball game ever made
