On another note, I wonder what skills/abilities players-turned-assistant coaches will have. Will it be determined by their attributes/signature skills from when they were a player?
I thought the same thing too. Haha nice flopping joke!

Re: What are your MYGM Plans?

One thing I wonder is if we use custom draft classes, will there be a generational player added by the game or will it just be the same draft class?

Re: What are your MYGM Plans?

See what the Boston Basketball Partners want from me. If they're ready for rebuild and won't fire me for a dip in the standings during the first year, I'm going to clear most of the roster. Somehow get rid of Wallace, Humphries. Trade Bass, Bogans, Lee, Brooks, Crawford, try to package them for a good young player or picks. If a good deal comes along, trade Green with them as well.

I'm going to build around Rondo and his talent to get other people involved. I'll heavily favor Bradley, Sullinger, Faverani (provided he has the same potential as he does in the roster update for current gen) and Olynyk. They're going to get all the playing time they can handle.

Roster spots that are left by the firesale will be filled by exprimental players. Royce White, Luke Babbitt, Kendall Marshall might run with my team for a year. Corey Maggette, Shannon Brown, Terrence Williams, Lamar Odom will be given a chance to prove to other teams they still have much left to contribute and either shipped elsewhere before the trade deadline hits or cut from the team.

It's not so much about bottoming out, whatever pick we end up will probably be enough for us as the draft is expected to be deeper than usual. Establishing our young players and clearing cap for an opportunity to try to sign one or more free agent is the key here. We'll be going hard after Carmelo and if we don't succeed we'll still have a healthy Rondo, Bradley who's had time to work on his offense, good rebounding big men in Sullinger and Faverani and more confident Olynyk. In addition we'll still have Green or whoever his replacement might be and at least one lottery pick to start the 2nd season.

Re: What are your MYGM Plans?

Will be running with the Raptors!

Still haven't 100% decided what style I am going with, but I'm leaning towards these two

Psychologist: A master of the mind games, a psychologist’s ability to assess Emotional Intelligence during conversations will allow him to occasionally persuade players to agree with his side of the argument during many conversation types.

or...

Broker: Unmatched during Trade Negotiation, a broker is occasionally able to get slightly better deals when negotiating with other GMs.

Since my beloved franchise is stuck in no man's land as far as our Roster situation is concerned, having the Psychologist perk might allow me too bring in a decent veteran Centre to take on a role of mentoring Jonas Valanciunas, maybe also might be handy when spreading minutes across the team and not creating too much chemistry loss or disgruntled players and coaches!.
If I decide to go with the Broker perk then adding draft picks and specific role players will be the route i will go. I think in either situation as a GM I would like to continue to build around Valanciunas and Derozan ...and hopefully talk Amir Johnson into becoming our back-up PF/C (Sixth man), So i can use the Psychologist perk there to manage my teams expectations...or the Broker perk to package Rudy Gay,Kyle Lowry and Landry Fields in a major trade come deadline and try to gain draft picks and secure my term long term future!

I'm going to keep prices low on Food,Parking and tickets to get people in stadium and keep my attendance high, so they shouldn't get to nasty if we have to lose a few games or if a trade doesn't work out right away.

As far as Staffing and Assistants I really like to have someone on board who has the Tactician and Teacher ability..Development is going to be my Back-Bone as GM so a having a teacher is crucial in getting J.Val and Derozan to that elite level while having a tactician will be important in close games and adding IQ. Ill also be keeping in close contact with Steve Nash to take on an assistant coaching job with us and hopefully assume some nice perks will come along with the future Hall of Famer who can eventually take on our head coaching job (Marc Jackson like!),Be interesting to see if i could level up my Psychologist ability to a point where i could talk Dwayne Casey into staying on board as a defensive specialist coach and have Steve Nash take over as my succession plan?...

All just idea's right now!...I hope this mode is as great as it's sounding!

Re: What are your MYGM Plans?

Trade Rondo to Atlanta or Utah for their point guard, a filler and a pick or two.

Trade Green to Memphis, Cleveland, or Washington for a pick, a filler (Prince?) and maybe a young player.

Keep Bradley, young point guard, Sullinger, Olynyk, and Faverani past their contracts, and try to develop Brooks into a scoring bench player.

Build around all the picks assembled (the picks they traded for in the offseason will be in the game, correct?)

However, if the trade logic is bad, I will not be playing very long
