I’ll give it a shot. I’m 100% MyLEAGUE for the real game, but for mobile games I’m fine with a little silliness (as long as fun can be had with zero microtransactions). I’ve tried stuff like this in the past though and found it to be too bloated with all the junk outside of actually hooping. It’s like I have to understand five different types of virtual currency before I’m allowed to just get my dudes and hit the court. Hopefully this one strikes a good balance.

Update: This mobile game is legitimately fun and I kinda dig MyTeam now as an on-the-train passing-the-time sort of experience. I'm not spending any $$$ and still having plenty of fun. Good work, 2K.

Unfortunately another update: I just had a situation where I finished a full, single-player, four-quarter game (a pretty big time investment for a mobile game), then the game lost connection to the 2K servers when transitioning from the end-of-game screen (where you can see the box score, etc.) back to the main menu. I was surprised yet not surprised that my progress / rewards were not recorded.

On the one hand, I was surprised because mobile games are inherently prone to interruption, so one would expect there to be some sort of system for autosaving one’s progress locally and then resyncing it to the server upon re-connection, but on the other hand it’s never surprising when something about a 2K game is poorly implemented.

I would suggest that if you use this app, do not play anything that would take more than 5-10 minutes to complete (so basically stick to Triple Threat and Clutch Time).
