Don’t get me wrong. I typed ''succesful'' for a reason. These are some extremely rare shield off animations that allow the ball handler to create some separation from defenders.

The mechanic that allows the ball handler to dribble and keep defenders on his back (hostage dribble) is not on current-gen. Don’t know why. But that explains trailing defenders getting stuck behind the ball handler without a collision on current-gen.

Man I miss 2k20 so much. The player movement and the collisions were amazing.

Luka Doncic has completely mastered this move. He's putting on a clinic in the WCF.
It's still crazy to me this hasn't been fixed/revamped on New Gen consoles...

I think it hasn’t been fixed because of the ProPlay animations. Previous gen doesn’t have them and still uses the old system, so my assumption is that the ProPlay animations aren’t compatible with it yet. Hopefully it gets fixed next year.
