I just can't do these 2 things in the game for fsake...

1) the cpu run plays to get their SG/SF open for an open 3s, like is there some sort of setting i can do to make my team defenders to be smart and not allow this, is like auto make baskets...?

2) i can never score a contested shot or shot of the dribble (super rare), is just no realistic because many many shots go in in real life even with the defender puts an hand in the shooters face...any sort of sliders i can change to have this happens...or switch real fg % i dunno?

Sounds like you just need to change up your defensive strategy.

You can tell your defenders to switch on off ball screens. But that causes mismatch. Checks and Balances.

Changing the way shots are contested will break the game in my opinion. This is player dependent. Badges are needed to hit contested shots.

But it's all about timing. Hit the freestyle to figure out their rhythm.

In another thread it was exposed that certain double screen plays always result in an open 3. I wonder if that's the type of play they're running.

The contest system needs an overhaul especially as it pertains to contest distance and what's considered a contest or bothering the shot. It's either wide open or bust and a look at highlights from even bench players shows that's not what happens in real life. Plenty of times I've beaten my man off the dribble found a gap between him and help rise up and it's either considered contested or if it's open there's no green on the meter.

i mean in basketball there is basically no play that "always results in an open three". if a team gets open all the time you have to adjust your gameplan. as long as defensive settings are workin properly, you should be able to shut down any play (while sacrificing on other ends of course). so basically if your opponent gets open all the time by offball screens, you should either switch to a zone defense or change the offball screen defense to switch.

Exactly..... Now it that isn't working. We got a problem. But everything I've experienced is like you said. Checks and Balances.

Off ball screens are very strong in 24 and the CPU spams them, you probably need to work out where they are setting them and defend off ball. It's generally pretty easy to see the plays unfold but you can't trust your CPU team mates to navigate the screens.

I play offline and I reduce my shooting sliders but also reduce the cpus contest strength in jumpers. This makes it easier to hit contested jumpers without making open shots automatic

What are your sliders for shooting and contest strength currently? And what are the in-game results like?
