MyPlayer/MyCareer rotation and defensive assignments ...Can we alter this?

So I seem to be in a situation now that is basically my fault but it is a frustrating one...

I have played as a 6'4 pg for years and chose to do so again this year but this year my Pacers actually have a decent PG in Tyrese Haliburton which seems to be impossible to switch to the 2 (or switch myself to be primarily used there)...

Now I seem to be in a weird situation where they only play him 12 minutes a game and will very rarely run with us both in rotation

Is there anyway to effect the positioning?

Also with that said can you also effect your defensive assignments?

Some point guards at this time completely roast me and if I could pull a switch to the 2 on defense I think it would help tremendously with my letter grade.

Hopefully my explanations make sense.
